Wish I had a endless supply of cash right about now.. Sure would be awesome!! I'm still paying off my Ryzen 1800x build from the beginning of summer. Maybe at tax time when all the prices settle down a bit. Looking forward to the extreme builds from those fortunate enough to get there hands on this stuff. Exciting times these days thats for sure..

Just purchased two kits of F4-3600C16D-16GVK for a total of 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4-3600 Ripjaws V 16-16-16-36 RAM for my Threadripper build. Those should be good binned SR Samsung B-die sticks. They should be good for super low latency (~CL12) at 3200-3333, or CL14 at 3466+ with some tweaking.

The stats look identical to mine (F4-3600C16D-16GTZ), but yours are $10 a pair cheaper !!

I just finished my Ryzen 7 1700 build, and now seeing Threadripper...I kinda want one now to go with some G.Skill Trident RGB memory and a new H100i v2 cooler. Even want a Vega 64 as well. My wallet is squeaking.

I may have to look into these. I ideally wanted the Gskill cl14 3600 RGB ones

Same ICs underneath the heatspreader. Just not fancy (TridentZ), or blingy LED light show (TridentZ RGB)

Hey guys... those of you who bought one of these CPU's, could you please take some pictures on how that crazy CPU box opens up? Pretty please?? Is it like a screw top box or something? I have never seen anything like it.

First, rip the cardboard and take it off, then pull the foam top off and take the middle out - remember the Torx driver and AIO bracket are in the bottom. Once you have the middle, then you turn the knob to release the back. Lift the spring out and up over, push the tabs to release the plastic top and slide your CPU out (leaving the orange plastic on the CPU).

What do you guys expect the overclocking headroom to be like? What kind of all core speeds are to be expected for the 1920x and 1950x?

Damn...those temps at stock speed with a soldered die. Is that cooler garbage? It looks like a pretty thick radiator. This may answer my previous question about overclocking headroom.
I will let you know in a little over a week. When mine comes in. Pre-ordered hours after it was available. I have a 360 push-pull rad setup AIO.

That cooler is garbage. AIO 120mm. Even Linus said the cooling was attrocious. For that much coin, you would expect Alienware to put something better.
I don't foresee any issues with a custom loop or proper AIOs or hefty air heatsinks. Either way, mine will be cooled by a custom loop so we'll see.

It seems that with these TR models (1950X and 1920X) an offset is applied just like with 1800X and 1700X:

https://community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2017/03/13/amd-ryzen-community-update

So to know the actual cpu temp (Tj°) its necessary to subtract the +20°C offset (or whatever it is with TR, Linus states 27ºC) reported by tCTL sensor. If its reporting, lets say, 80ºC, real temp would be 60ºC (or 53 if offset is 27)

That Alienware system looks like trash. You would think for $4400 they would at least use some decent components. Looks like they threw in the cheapest crap they could find and slapped a stupid looking case on it. That system is worth about $1700 for the Threadripper and the GTX 1080ti. Everything else is just garbage. Hot garbage.

Alienware was pretty good back in the days before Dell bought them. They seem like they are the bottom of the barrel for boutique builders now though.

The Alienware does look like trash. It has cheap OEM garbage written all over it, and that cooler...come on man. You can't cool 16 cores with a single 120mm. How ridiculous. I wouldn't be happy with anything less than a dedicated 360mm for that CPU, and even then I'd expect it to get warm and have those fans turned up a bit. I don't think the CPU is at fault with those Alienware temps at all. Also, with such healthy silicone for these chips, I'm hoping people can hit 4.2 all cores with these bad boys. Good god, imagine that? Holy surprise parties! Also, with fast ram support out of the gate and quad channel, I have a gut feeling we will be seeing some impressive numbers from these things. That Alienware though...what a complete pile.

I had a 120mm AIO for my 5820k until I overclocked it then I had to buy a 240mm. Hmmmm...it's all speculation anyway. I have read quite a bit on TR on other sites etc. and reviewers have been able to over clock all 16 cores to 4GHZ using less voltage than ryzen 7. So if you want to go and over clock it on 4 cores for doing things like gaming (I believe out of the box XFR pushes the clock to 4.2 but only on select cores. 2 per die maybe? For lightly threaded loads like you know gaming.).....my understanding is that multi core CPUs regardless of manufacturer are not boost enabled on all cores by default anyway. I am relatively new to TR and over clocking so mea culpa if I got anything wrong here.

We shall all know soon enough if turning a TR based system on for the first time will result in a minor nuclear explosion. It's thrilling isn't it? isn't it?
