$65 now.

I've been thinking of getting one of these flashdrives, but can't justify spending that much on so little capacity. You can get a pocket external usb drive (20GB) for $150 if you look around for it.
Still $45 after rebate (which is what AR means). I'm reallllll tempted to get in at this price.

most of these usb keychains are only usb1.1, but the transfer rate is still not too bad. i don't remember the last time i used a floppy! i rely on my diskonkey so much i didn't bother getting a floppy for my inspiron (save $20)! now if only the school comps had front usb ports, i hate pulling out the damn case and reaching back there.. great deal, i got mine a year and half ago for $65 for 32mb!

The eCOST deal sucks. They expect me to pay $64.99 + $7.95 SHIPPING + $5.95 HANDLING (utter bullsh!t) + $5.36 sales tax !

$84.25 total? FOCK this! The rebate brings it back down to $64 more/less!

To the person who bought the one from the Geeks, you bought one that is kinda worthless. You HAVE to install the drivers for it to work. I dont know about you, but if im gona have to carry around a floppy along with this thing it sorta defeats the purpose.

I also have the 128mb version, with the 128MB one i dont have to go around installing the drivers for every PC i use.

------
It's quite a ripoff to be selling it for this much.

It doesnt cost the manufacturer that much to go from a 32MB chip to a 128
MB chip.

take a 32MB chip, and put 4 more 'AND" gates and you can get 128.

32x4 = 128~
-----

I bet you just took your first electronics class and thought you had everything figured out

I dont see the point in having a usb 2.0 key with only a 32 meg capacity. usb 1.1 is perfectly fine for such a small
container.

Like yes, if your bios supports it. See the informative post from Hugenstein above, and the link to the article he supplies.

If you can't boot from it, it useless unless they make a dos usb driver somehow.

mainomega, what model do you have? And doesn't it need drivers for Win98? It seems that all USB keys need drivers at least fro Win98.

Those criticizing ShinSa may not've gotten the joke. He's purposely equating AND with addition (AND 32mb AND 32mb AND 32mb....), but it's a pretty pathetic joke notheless, though (no offense ShinSa, but it's that funny ;^)

MainOmega: are you using win98 non-SE? It doesn't have usb drive support built-in. Win2k & XP should work, though.

To give you an idea on the transfer rates for USB keys expect an average of 4:30 for 128mb and around 2:45 for 64mb. doesnt seem all that fast. Maybe worth waiting an extra month for USB 2 Keys to come out. A company called JMTEK has a 1gb version out. Downside it cost around .70 per mb. ($700) ouch. 2gb version out soon. Would be great to share MP3's and misc games.

It could be extremely useful in a way. Like you finish writing your term paper and save it on the key. Just in case when you go to class and forgot the papers at home, just go to the computer center and print out from that. Ofcourse it would have to be chained to your car keys at all times and could be an annoyance sometimes. Such a cool gadget for a college student. The speed is pretty useless unless it's 128mb which takes quite a long time.

Just one question. Is it waterproof?
