Force feedback is nothing but a gimmick. In real life, just because you're corning hard doesn't mean it's physically difficult to turn the steering wheel. Force transmitted through the tires, suspension, and steering isn't nearly as strong in real life as with FF wheels

It's not a gimmick on a proper sim with a well configured wheel.

I like the fact that this has its own stand and whatnot, as opposed to bolting something down to your desk or having to build your own "cockpit." However, I wish there was a version with a shifter. That's what really makes racing games/sims feel alive to me.

umm...have you ever driven a car hard with no power steering? just because you don't feel the wheel fighting you when you hit a roundabout in your civic doesn't mean that forces aren't exerted through a race car's tires back to the driver...

Even a car with competent power steering has feedback. I know I've had several cars with power steering on the track and they all had significant important feedback through the wheel.

It cost a fortune to license XBox controller support supposedly. Even Microsoft made steering wheels for Pc (which I have) do not work with xbox.

No I've never driven a car with no power steering. I didn't even think of F1 and Indy games. I only play sandbox games like TDU and ones where you race production cars.

BTW I drive a Jeep not a Civic!

Here's my take on my experience with a force feedback wheel (Logitech Momo). I don't like it. It has been a while since I've driven a vehicle without power steering, but I've never driven one with power steering that felt like that force feedback wheel. Not even off-roading in my dad's truck felt like that. The closest was probably going really fast on the road, where steering got really heavy. I think if they halved the "force" it would be closer to realistic... unless they are modeling it after a particular type of car (say, F1) and not any normal car that people normally drive.

I have driven... two different vehicles with no power steering. Once you are moving, no issue whatsoever. Only parking lot maneuvers are difficult, and don't even try turning the wheel while stationary.
