i will take USB 2.0 over USB 1.1 .... brand names have nothing to do with it.. plus you dont need over 512 mb for jogging or whatever.

i disagree with the brand name thing. you want a company that updates firmware and responds to problems. it seems that Creative is such a company...

and actually, the creative is the 2.0, the no-name is the 1.1. that's the biggest issue: 512 mb @ 2.0, or 1 gb @ 1.1. for some reason i like the feeling of having 1 gb, but at 1.1 speeds, maybe not...

There's also a Lexar one that uses the Lexar Thumbdrive Sports. Kinda nice since you can just go get more thumbdrives for it at any time and its about $40 without a thrumbdrive. Couple that with a 1GB one for $50-$60 and you've got a USB2.0 thumbdrive MP3 player for about the same price.

EDIT: Linkage

I was going to suggest the same thing but he wants something that doesn't use a cable.
P.S. the Sandisk is cheaper at Buy.com and Mwave...

No prob Ross. BTW, you can get the 1GB Sandisk from ebuyer for a little over $120 AR which is a very nice deal IMO. Last day for the rebate is today, though, so anyone on the east coast is SOL.

I have a Samsung YEPP MP3 Player with 256MB and a 512MB USB Flash drive.

I'm good to go until 4GB flash drives for $100 are available, maybe another 2 years away.

ok, so it looks like the muvo is my best bet, right? remember: fm tuner, built in usb (no cables), preferably usb 2.0.
and elfenix: i'm an npr junkie. fm tuner is mandatory.

I just bought the Muvo N200, I love it - I wasnt sure to get it or the TX FM, as the TXFM doesnt need a cable to connect but the N200 does, besides that and being a little smaller, i dont think there is much of a difference.

If everything else was the same other than it being USB1.1, I'd take it. How often do you really add and remove files when you are trying to get out the door? Just because it takes a bit longer isn't any reason to stay away. Just update the files when you get back or whatever instead of right when you are trying to leave and you'll be fine.

The Muvo is a great piece of kit. Sounds nicer than the shuffle too.

Go with the muvo - you wont be disappointed

I'm looking at the Muvo TX FM as well. I want 1GB, I was hoping that the iShuffle's $150 (or lower) price right out of the gate would put a lot of pressure on Creative, iRiver, etc. to reduce their prices almost immediately.

Hurry up and slash those prices!!!
