Just wanted to give props to M$ft. I had a natural keyboard pro, that was a replacement part of the 2nd series of natural keyboards---I still like the very first ones better---but anyway. I'm a coder, and I use the arrow keys and ctrl keys not to mention the DELETE key more then anything else----and my left ctrl key has gotten mucked. It presses with resistance, and sometiems the keypresses aren't caught. A big pita to use coding, so I swtiched back to my Keytronic for now.

Anyway.....I went through the process on the web site support asking what else can be done to remedy this problem, and downloaded MSKeys as well as used compressed air. Finally, after a week, I was told to call a # if the kb was still not working right----which it wasn't---and I called, and in about 5 minutes, they scheduled a replacement order. It' son backorder and will probably arrive in the next few weeks.

Just wanted to give a shout out to M$ft for doing well on hardware, as always. BTW---they're sending me the newest model, which I'm not too keen about b/c I like the one I have more hten the new ones----but the one they're sending me has a lifetime warranty---

I just got a brand-new Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 from them. Just had to fax them my name, address, and the bottom label of my old mouse. Props to MS!

Wish I had one. I bought two of them when they came out and both died. M$ft replaced them w/ the keyboard pro, one of which just got replaced again in the above post.

I miss my original every single day. If nothing more then for the arrow keys alone. Although the original had a wierd peg undernetath it to raise the kb in the front and not the rear---but man, I've thought many times about ebaying one of the originals. Other then my keytronic, favorite kb ai've ever used.

I do admit they are good in the exchange department. I have an Optical Trackball and it had a flaw where it would double-click sometimes. A quick call to MS had a new trackball in my hands in 3 days!

What's even nicer is that they didn't ask for the old one back saving me the hassle of return shipping.

Yah, I actually didn't know M$ft did so well on their replacements for Mice too. I saw the thread in hot deals and replaced my 3 dead old m$ft mouse. Intellimouse Pro, and two origianl trackballs. I don't know why I kept them, but I'm glad I did b/c like you said...just took a fax and a photocopy, and I've got three replacements coming now.

Although, I wish they could replace the pro w/ a pro, b/c it's my favorite mouse---too bad it bit the dust. Logitch is pretty good at replacing dead mice, but M$ft has em beat.

which trackball did you have the black one or the silver one? I had a black one that did the same thing, but I think I tossed it.....or I'd get it replaced too.

And yah, it's nice not to have to ship the buggers back...although I don't know how they fight against ppl taking advantage of their replacement policy.

They made one with a bunch of internet keys above the function keys that had the arrow keys in the inverted "T" layout. It wasn't the "pro", it was the elite or something along those lines.

Yeah, i'm still using the original natural... and it's been at least 4 years now i think.

But i've gone through so many ergonomic keyboards, including Belkin and Logitech... and i always come back to MS. I just bought another 2 MS ergonomic keyboards... 1 as a spare incase one of these malfunction... but i still haven't had the original natural keyboard break down yet, and i've gone through both the Belkin and Logitech.

By original do you mean the Microsoft Natural Elite? I have one sitting here that i'll send you for the cost of shipping. Replaced it with the free logitech cordless bundle.

I replaced my Natural KB pro but received the MM pro instead. Great KB but I, like yourself like the older one better.

I forgot to mention I really needed the USB hub in the rear that gave me an extra USB port. I ended up having to get a separate hub now.

we should take a poll as to what keyboards people use...seems like a lot of people here use the natural (I do, couldn't use any other).

And yeah, M$'s hardware support is great!

I myself am partial to Compaq keyboards. You'd say there's nothing special... but there sure is. Even if it's made by Mitsumi it isn't the same Mitsumi you buy for $10, that's fore sure. It's lots heavier and of higher quality.

As for those fancy Logitech or Cherry keyboards, all I have to say... they suck (IMHO). The same goes for teh 'shaft ones. Their shape pisses me off. And they take half the deskspace... Not even funny.
