True. I just bought this Ti4200 for $185, ya ya I know thats high for a ti4200, but I was able to hit 300/650 on my first try 100% stable. I highly recomend this card. It was also a much needed upgrade from my Voodoo4.

Dam I am still undecided on this I have bought all the other pieces of my system now except for the Vid Card, I have narrowed it down to MSI or Leadtek but still undecided on 64 or 128. I threw out the Albatron simply because the Turbo version is too costly at $185 plus the reliability of the products from a new company is a bit risky for me, and the Gainwards are nice too but I have seen reliability problems popping up in forums on some of the newer shipments lately. After two weeks, I have read more than I would like at this point
so now its down to 64 vs 128. Everything I have read is basically all you need now is 64 to run todays games at full specs, but for an extra $30 bucks you could get the 128 version and be ready for games that support textures over 64 in 2003... but basically now the extra $30 bucks you spend today gets you nothing, just piece of mind, kinda like insurance. I plan on overclocking my Vid card so the increased memory speed of the 64 cards is negligible when OCing both cards based on the reviews I have read. I only upgrade like every xmas time, so this card will have to hold me a year...I guess if I go with the 64 now, then I can always turn off some of the eyecandy in the later part of next year if need be, hell I am using a GF2 GTS Pro now, so I am use to playing at medium specs Ah, decisions decisions...

I beleive that the problems with the Gainward, you mention, are limited to the 64mb version. The 128mb version uses different memory and from what I have been able to find in my searches, the 128mb Golden Sample is not a problem. Go to Newegg and read the reviews for the 64mb and 128mb cards and it confirms this. This being the case, I would not disqualify the 128mb Golden Sample at $157, only $5 more than the 64mb version.
