TICKET For CELLPHONE use while Driving... WHAT TO DO?

2 bored cops gave me a tix today for cellphone use, which i see EVERYDAY anyway.. .

anyway just wondering there were 2 boxes for "OPERATOR IS OWNER OF VEHICHLE" , whcih he checked YES.. does this mean whether i own the vehicle or an employer or something else? technically the car is not in my name, it is registered to someone else.

can this be a loophole to get me off? i will fight the tix regardless, worst that can happen is i pay the fine... was just curious though... they never asked to see registration... just license...

edit: was picking up my gf and told her to call if bus got delayed or anything... i was at A LIGHT when she called... however light turned green and i had to make a turn and hit another red... thats when the 2 supertroopers (in an UNMARKED car behind me) pulled me over...

First, get a headset. Second, shut up and pay the ticket.

 

I got one of thoes bs tickets. I even had my handsfree set on. No points and a cheap fine.

Plead not guilty. If you want to bring it further hire a lawyer.
This should be treated like any other moving violation.

there is a reason that every cellphone bought in the new york city has to come with a headfree, because it is illegal to talk with one hand operating the viechel.

unless you can show to the judge that you weren't talking on the phone. I have seen a woman fought it, she wasn't making a call on her phone carrier record. IIRC, the cop gave her a ticket because she was handing the cell phone on her hand, but not talking on the phone.

parkingtickets.com doesn't cost anything if they don't get the ticket reduced or dismissed.
But I don't know if this classifies as a parking ticket.
It ISN'T a moving violation though.

wouldn't using your cellphone while driving be more distracting then talking on it, since you'd have to be looking at the screen and such instead of the road?
