These run a special version of Windows CE 2.11 for palmtops/handhelds. This precedes the original Pocket PC OS, and most definitely WM2003. If you do some searching, you can still find some software for it. AFAIK, no new software is currently being made for this platform, as the handheld version of CE 2.11 has been discontinued for some time now.

Despite that, this little device would make a great little ultra-portable wireless-capable handheld. Log into linux machines, internet browsing, emulators, etc etc.

Are you saying you can use this to surf wireless around your house. I have a wireless G setup, if I can surf from around the house on this thing I am in? I just don't think they have any wireless cards or anything like that for it. Is there a way? Excuse my ignorance I don't know jack about lap tops. My wireless system was setup b/c when frys had their grand opening it was all FAR. I do see PCMCIA on there I guess that could be used for the hook up?

Well this isn't a laptop, it runs a special (older) Windows-based OS meant specifically for handhelds. And because of that, you have to make sure the wireless card you use in it has drivers that will work with that version of windows (CE 2.11 or H/PC Pro).

[L=Here] is a page that lists some that are known to work with what handheld OS's. You're wanting ones that support H/PC Pro, but I believe CE 2.11 drivers will work as well, but not 100% sure (I myself have never owned an H/PC handheld).

I used to have a Jornada 680, used a symbol wireless b cf card with a cf to pc card converter to get on my campus network. The one thing that will restrict the use of this on wireless internet is the version of internet explorer on it (<IE 5.0). I couldn't access yahoo email, but it handled my school email account just fine.
