ZipZoom and Newegg want 250 for it.

TigerDirect actually has a good deal without rebates? Never thought I would see the day.

Is this a particular good mobo? I'm in the market for a new one. I'm all about solid reliability and reasonably new-fangled-ness, but I don't want any part of the first run, ultra-high-tech stuff that still doesn't have decent drivers. I'm a v1.2 or greater sort of fellow.

$200 for a motherboard? I suspect very steep price depreciation in the near futute.

Tiger Direct is reall only bad if you have to try to get them to honor or follow through on a rebate.....if that's the case, run for the hills.

On the other hand, if it's just a straight up price with no rebating involved, they're not bad at all. I've purchased from them a number of times, for cheaply priced items with no rebates, and have been quite happy with their packing, shipping speed, etc.

My experience has been the same. I avoided them for years based on opinions usually expressed here. They had an especially good deal recently and I decided to give them a try. I must say their service was as good as the EGG. Have bought 5 more times in last 3 months with excellent results. They have shipped same day everytime. I am not sure it is really the responsibility of a supplier to see that a mfg fullfills their rebate offers. It's a gamble, to me anyway.

As far as Resellerrattings goe, I do not find their ratings reliable in most cases. Just my experience............

Yah, I like TD, as well. I live in IL about 150 miles away, so I get everything the day after they ship it out (which has always been the day of my order), but I have to pay tax. It's a good deal when I need something fast; tax < overnight/next-day shipping.

The BadAxe 2 is a bit better OC'er than the original version, but not as good as a comparable 975 board from another brand, such as ASUS.

I don't know about that... Board for board, the Intel should be able to push the same, or higher FSB.

One huge bonus the BX2 (along with the Infinity, and I believe the new ABIT) brings to the table over Asus offerings is it a also allows you to manually control the NB strap whereas on the Asus, it is directly tied to the FSB.

One minus, is right now you dont have any control over the multiplier ( cannot decrease it). Supposivly, this is planned for a later BIOS release.

I have a bad axe 2. It's a good overclocker when you void the warranty and turn on debug mode... Or else it only clocks up to 20% faster.

However, the thing is rock solid. No problem whatsoever.

I think he was talking about the original Bad Axe and not the "2" version. There is a debug "mod" that you can do with a conductive pen on that board.

No, I think he's really talking about the "Burn-In Mode" that Intel puts into their motherboard's BIOS's. Accessing this mode sort of unlocks a lot of overclocking adjustments usually not accessible otherwise. When you access the burn-in mode, the board tells you it could create instability, etc., but do not EVER remember anything saying it voided any warranty.....and I've done a lot of Intel over the years, until AMD's A64 series.
