mine hated Postal 2, and it seems FPS style using keyboard & mouse simultaneously is beyond most women. Similarly, the basics of flying are out of the window. I think mariokart is the only game I've ever seen that women can play well, and that's because it's designed for 5 year olds to use it!!Originally posted by: MrChad
She's jealous for your attention. Find some games that she can be involved in.

I know exactly how you feel Kamikaze. My GF of 3.5yrs used to say the same things when we first started going out. In fact, she almost broke up with me (so she says) because of one incident (Any of you guys play/played Final Fantasy XI the MMORPG? Remember early in the game when you had to sit at your computer and feed the stinkin chocobo once every hour or so.....6-7 times...so 6-7hours straight....just to get a stinkin chocobo license so you can ride them across the world?...yea....) that I played for like 6-7 hours straight.
Anyways, I didn't give in to her complaints, and explained to her that this is what I do for fun, from since forever. She usually watches TV/movies while I play games (lucky for me, she's a huge TV/movie person). And I guess she finally broke down, and is willing to try playing some games with me. So I'm upgrading her laptop so we can play Guild Wars together .

I agree, gaming is not childish at all. Just another way to pass the time.
I'd rather play a game sometimes than watch some lame ass show.
Plus look at all the games that are based on books and other media. Tell this chick to get a clue, it's not 1983 anymore. More than just nerds and kids play games. In fact, to the non-gamers, I say you're missing out on good entertainment. n00bs.

If she keeps this up, you need to have a talk with her and warn her off of getting on your nerves because it will have long term consequences. If she responds with, "I can't believe you'd pick games over me," calmly inform her that it's not games you're picking over her, it's you asserting your freedom to do whatever the fsck you want to do with your free time. If she can't deal with that, she knows where the door is.
Heh. That reminds me of the scene in Evil Dead when they lock the chick in the basement.Originally posted by: MercenaryForHire

My wife enjoys watching me play games that are too difficult/scary for her. Although Call of Cthulhu did creep her the fsck out.

My character investigating a house: Where's your mother?
Small child: Daddy locked her in the attic. She has to stay there.
Character: Why's that?
Small child: She's not nice any more. Mommy bites.

Seriously, that is what I did. I got her into WoW and she loves it. My biggest problem is that she doesn't have a computer so she is always wanting to use mine. Backfire FTW.

He plays games, we play games together, I play nerdy girly games.... it all works out. I've got a few girl friends who are into WoW and everything, too.
I didn't realize how few girls know about games until I was in a class with my fellow future teachers and our TA started asking questions about different kinds of games. "Wow, you mean there are games that you can play online with other people?" I felt really nerdy then.
