Time to say buh-bye to HBO?

I'm dumping my DTV, and going with OTA HD with HTPC & Blockbuster for now, will swap to Netflix if they ever stop grandfathering my rental plan...

If the HTPC is too much of a pain, I'm just going to use a HD TIVO with OTA HD...

I said the same thing a few months back, and got slammed for it.

IMHO none of the "premium" movie services are worth paying for.

we have it for entourage. we use it to watch all the random movies, we have like 10 different HBO's, but one is in spanish, so really 9. i also like watching inside the NFL

Showtime has Dexter, The Tudors, Weeds, Sleeper Cell, etc

HBO has..nothing, really. entourage and maybe curb. feh. I'm getting both channels free for the next 12 months, so it's not skin off my back

There is nothing left on HBO. I would drop it until there is some programming that looks promising. You can easily add it back on at anytime.

dumped cable altogether. still enough decent programming on basic when i want to tune out, and more than enough more worthwhile things to be doing.

My sarcasm meter hit "7".

The purpose (in my opinion) of paying for HBO is to see movies you haven't seen yet. If they're 6 years old, and worth watching in the first place, then I either own them or have seen them on tv a dozen times.

I cancelled HBO after my 3 month Dish freebie was up.

HBO has nothing.

Movies- Netflix
Sopranos - no more
Stand Up -- Netflix
Original Movies - Netflix
Curb Your Enthusiasm - Torrent...on second though, nah! Curb ain't that funny!
NFL show - Fugghetaboutit I get the NFL network channel


The only thing that HBO has is Entourage (torrent and/or Netflix) and Bryant Gumbel's Inside Sports. Ain't worth the $12

although Oz was a good show, i used to watch that when i traveled/stayed at hotels with HBO
