I need some tips on the best coolers out there. Price is no concern, just no liquid nitrogen because I want it for everday use. I don't know if water cooling is as good as it gets so point me in the right direction.

I need one for my 4-way SLI X58 EVGA mobo, my CPU which is an i7 , my Memory which is the Corsair Dominator GT 2000mhz7-8-7-20, and I doubt anyone can help me with the video part, because I'm not getting my dual GTX 480's till they are released but seeing how they're 40nm they may run at decent temps. If I'm missing a part on my PC let me know, but as far as I know, those are the primary parts that have available coolers on the market. Thanks

Custom watercooling setup. IMO, no air cooler comes close to a good watercooling setup. My friend had his E6600 @ 3.6 around 19c idle with his window open.

WATERCOOL

i spent about $400 on my setup, and i know thats ridiculous, but the cooling potential is amazing. I DO NOT REGRET IT. my temps will NOT go above 60C even in the summer with 80-85F ambients (WCing is still limited to ambient temps) with my Q6600 overclocked to 3.9ghz @ 1.5vcore. i even have my 8800gt WC'ed and its idling at 34c right now and loads at 40c. Thats the power of WCing.

Oh and another plus is my PC is quiet as hell. i can eliminate lots of case cooling and small fans such as the 8800gt's high frequency squeal.

if you are interested i can help you piece together a setup

I would appreciate it! I've already spent enough on my system so $400 or more on cooling is def worth to me. Not sure what the top coolers out there are so some pointers on that would be great.:hmm:

how do watercoolers work if the water is room temp? I never understood the concept of how the water gets cool. Is There like a mini freezer that flows cold water through the tubes? If that's the case they should work fine.

check this out:
What case you got? i'm excited to help! WCing is like a form of art for computing.
a great blend of art/functionality.

Pump: MCP355 $65 http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCP-355-12v-DC-Pump-pr-3510.html
Radiator: MCR320 $52 http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCR320-QP-K-Triple-120mm-Radiator-pr-3320.html
Reservoir: Swiftech Microres $25: http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCRES-Micro-Rev-2-pr-4312.html
or
Bitspower Reservoir/Top for your pump: $40 (i'd suggest this over Microres) http://www.jab-tech.com/Bitspower-DDC-Mini-Water-Tank-Plus-BP-DDCT2-CL-pr-4582.html

CPU Block: Heatkiller 3.0 $ 62 http://www.jab-tech.com/Watercool-HeatKiller-CPU-LGA1366-Rev.-3.0-LT-pr-4605.html
Tubing: 15 feet of MasterKleer tubing: (good to have extra) $9 http://www.jab-tech.com/Masterkleer-Tubing-7-16-ID-5-8-OD-pr-3079.html
Barbs aka Fittings: these are used to screw into each of the components (g1/4 size) you'll need 2 of each for the CPU block, radiator, reservoir/pump (which is screwed onto your pump) so 6x Barbs in total. I'd recommend using Bitspower, they're the "standard" in barbs these days: $2.75/ea http://www.jab-tech.com/Bitspower-G1-4-Matt-Black-1-2-Fitting-BP-MBWP-C01-pr-4516.html

Total ~$250, you have lots of room to improve

this setup will definitely cool your i7 better than a TRUE by a long shot. The below shot is my current setup with my 8800gt in the loop also with 2x triple radiators.

This is what i use to drain my system, you can copy my setup and you'll need 2 more of the above Barbs/fittings + 1x http://www.jab-tech.com/Enzontech-Metallic-Silver-T-Block-G1-4-CPS-T-pr-4304.html (or something cheaper like a Delrin-made T block like the one i have; i just used Jab-tech for simplicity and all at once shopping)

The Silver coil you see is there to kill any bacteria grown in the loop. You just shove it into a section of tubing and you're good to go. No need to buy any additive or ANY other liquid, just the Silver coil + Distilled Water http://www.jab-tech.com/Antimicrobial-Silver-Strip-pr-4530.html

water has a higher heat capacity (much higher) than the air. without getting technical, imagine how long it will take a blowdryer to heat up a pint of water to 100c and how long it will take it to heat up a thermometer thats placed right in front of it to 100c. Just trust me, water and your i7 are a perfect match.

Just make sure you know what you're getting into before going the water route. If you don't know how to maintain the system or fix leaks, it's going to be a lot more of a pain than its worth. With air, you strap it on and go, and make sure you blow the dust off once a month. And unless you're overclocking heavily or worried about fan noise, you won't notice any difference.

What happened to the fan + AC contraption you had in mind?

I was a complete noob 1 year ago. Had no leaks. I blow the dust out just like you and water doesn't damage parts. Just let them dry. A few drops doesn't hurt. Getting my wcing up was more joyful than overclockinh my q6600 to 3.6

Medium migrations should never be rushed.

Make sure you do enough research and make sure you have enough budget.

But as louis said, unless you want to get into cooling that eats power.. sub ambient..

The best you can go is water.

And even under water it has different tiers.
From entry level, to mid tier (What we usually recomend), to (OMG whats that tier...)

Aigo's systems fall under this tier. Together, they single-handedly eliminated global warming in 2009.

A Silver KillCoil is 5 bucks. PT Nuke is 3 bucks, with enough to use in more than one loop.

pt nuke runs out, and you need to add more everytime you fill. silver is also cooler, and isn't a liquid that may, or may not play well with other liquids, tubes, blocks, etc. PT Nuke was so 2 years ago

Ill stick with my silver thanks, only noobs use pt nuke these days, unless they've had a bottle for a while and are awaiting it to run out then buy a silver coil.

Wow I gotta say that is one impressive cooling setup you got there LOISSSS. I'm excited to set one up, so heres what im going to do. Seeing how I know nothing about water cooling, I'm going to use those links and copy that setup you have there and hook the same thing up. My Email is mwg25@live.com. I'll have some questions along the way, so I'll be sure to Email you back as soon as I'm off vacation with my wife and daughter in about 2 1/2 weeks :awe: then I'll be ready. ^_^

Old pics... i made some changes, but havent taken any new pics... :T

My board looks like this:

:T

But all that probably costs more then your new computer.

Best thing to do is set a max budget.. and then add 100 for "oh crap i want that too" situations.

Actually if you can link me everything I may get exactly what you have. My pc was $7000 total without cooling. Your cooling setup would be great for me if it's that good. I'm interested.

Yah definitely it was rediculous. I paid full price when I could have gotten everything for about $5,000 now so I felt bad about that. So I figured I aleady spent all that it would be well worth good cooling since I'm overclocking.

I'm still wondering what's in there. Its tough to build a machine for $3000 let alone $5000

Do you have like 4xQuad Core Xenons & 48GB+ Ram or something?

GL on the watercooling though. I've had a few points in my system builds where I would have really liked to go watercooling. Though with my budget atm, its pretty much out of the picture.
