Titan X - bad performance - cpu is old but at 40% usage

my cpu is really old (2012), but i think it s not its fault

This is Battlefield 1 beta: (here you can blame that s a new game)

Black ops 3 (older is a little better)

i don t think it s cpu's fault because i have many video with under 40% cpu usage and always 99% GPU usage

depends on the games, i linked the video i made:

BF1 (Ultra settings) <80 fps
BOIII (maxed out) 150-160
Crysis3 (maxed out) 100

this is less than all the other titanx users

You are most likely CPU bottlenecked on those games. Your CPU usage isn't the problem, it is a result of a single Core's usage. With 6 cores, and 12 threads, you will almost never see 100% CPU usage, because many games will not use many of the cores, but it only takes 1 to slow you down.

Update your CPU, for higher single thread performance. Enjoy the benefits of DDR4 and better motherboard features.

I may have spoke too soon. I watched this video, and I don't know what you are smoking, but that is perfectly great FPS the whole time, with full GPU usage. There are no FPS drops to speak of. Going from 120 FPS to 100 FPS is not FPS dropping. That is standard gaming behavior.

If it is not as high as others, it's most likely a slight settings difference. Most people who use "Maxed out" settings do not turn up all the AA options, and often don't use some specialty settings, like PhysX, advanced DOF, or HBAO+, or some such setting.

You could try overclocking your CPU if not already, if possible.

What are you calling bad? I skimmed through your videos and I am not seeing any bad numbers at all. All I see is smooth gameplay.

Yeah, single thread performance limited. The options are 1) overclock, 2) buy CPU with higher single thread performance. That's pretty much it.

it was the same (not bad, but not good enough )performance with the cpu at def (4ghz) and with the cpu at 5GHz. (i also tried 4.5 and 4.7). always the same.

atm i don t have this problem anymore: my desktop gaming pc/monitor/keyb/mouse are in the alienware box because i m going to use only my notebook in the future.

sadly my only gaming notebook is a 14" inch with GT 750M at 1080p. so i barely play at 30fps
