Well that is an overclocked Titan.

I think Titan is going to suprise all of us and live up to its name as soon as hex editing wizards like svl7 are done fixing the things NVIDIA messed up on. I have been living in the high performance laptop world for several years. I travel extensively and have moved away from desktops for that reason. I can tell you that 580M and 680M performance absolutely suck with a stock vBIOS. 7970M kicks 680M's butt with a stock NVIDIA vBIOS, but as soon as the limitations are removed, 680M romps up one side of 7970M and down the other. That might be what we are seeing with Titan. AMD and NVIDIA are burning way too many calories on power conservation at the expense of performance and it needs to stop... NOW. I'm tired of seeing that lame approach in the mobile world and I find it disturbing that the same flawed mentality has found its way into to desktop world.

Where on earth did you come up with that? I have absolutely no problem with my MSI vBIOS and it beats 7970M which have been shown by Anandtech. I can overclock with my 680M, it doesn`t throttle wether its overclocked or stock. How have Nvidia messed up? Elaborate please.
And suddenly you forgot everything about AMDs fantastic Enduro?

Other sites have shown different results, generally 7970M and 680M are very close, as long as 7970M doesn't use enduro.

There is two sites that have tested them with enough games (+14). Notebookcheck which I don`t trust for a second, and Anandtech. That is with the Enduro fix.

AMD have mostly fixed the Enduro problems now, but Nvidia 680M have never had any issues. I don`t understand why Fox claims that.

Mr. Fox is referring to nvidia's hampering their cards with "boost", voltage and temperature limits. All of this isn't for the enthusiast, its to minimize RMA and put hard limits on what you can do with the card. GPU boost is one of the worst things to ever happen to nvidia cards--it only benefits nvidia and their partners and a few noobs who know nothing about OC'ing or refuse to do it. Hopefully AMD doesn't go down the same path.

It matters to me. Why play a game at full boost clock and GPU voltage when 837MHz at less than a 1 volt can run the game at 60 frames per second?

I can name plenty of games a Titan isn't even close to 60 fps with max settings on at 1080p:

Tomb Raider ~40fps
Witcher 2 ~35 fps
Crysis 3 ~40 fps

Crysis 3 ~40 fps

Add Trine 2 to that list. With max settings the Titan struggles during heavy scenes to maintain 60 fps and at stock it doesn't come close. It requires a heavy OC.

And that is an over clocked 680Mx2.

Let's not get the facts twisted...
We are comparing sli mobile to titan single card. And that's in any shape fashion or form....
And I do have both cards..

600M series doesn`t have GPU Boost 2.0 or temperature limit that control the boost.

I understand that GPU boost might make the effort to overclock the GPU a little more complicated, but its a nice feature for those who don`t want to overclock but let the system overclock and maximize the performance for the user.

Thats what I was saying all along. 680M SLI OC beat Titan stock and even slightly OC. Titan wins if you push it though. No doubt about that at all

680M has severe throttling with stock vbios. Only reason it doesn't now is because of svl7's efforts. And now he did away with GPU Boost 2.0 on the desktop side.

Mine doesn`t Joker. I can`t recall to see more than a few complaints about it at NBR either. Are we talking heavy overclocking on stock vbios (standard voltage)? In that case I agree since I remember a lot of complaints about that with people posting afterburner graphs. Saltius and SVL made a VBIOS that took care of it. I remember now

In that case never mind me. I thought you guys meant throttling on stock clocks on stock vbios

Not quite what I'm saying though.
This will forever cause conflict when comparing stuff...That's why we try not to do it. So it's either stock vs stock or over clock vs over clock, but not one gets a helping hand and the other doesn't. And in reality it's one single mobile card vs one single desktop card, which we are not doing.

Dont get me wrong, cause i will cheerlead for my sli 680m's till the wheels fall off!

Right at stock it doesn't throttle. When OC'd passed +125 mhz it throttled like mad.

Yep, apples to apples. Some instances Titan should win handily, others not so much. But some here believe(d) that 680M SLI couldn't even touch Titan.

P.S. how the hell did you get that firestrike score? I'm like 800 pts short with a max OC.

Of course.... I made believers of that long ago with 7970/680 when going sli vs single cards. And even some dual card setups.

As to firestrike...you may need to hit me up on gtalk for that.

My second order was delayed.

Seems silly to have it in your sig then. I've been finding more and more that peoples sigs don't actually represent the hardware that they own. There was a guy not to long back that I recall when pushed into a corner revealed that it was the system he wanted not what he had.

What's the point of having a rig listed in your sig if it's not accurate?

Does it bother you that much? LOL. It was on order till it got delayed by NCIX. Here just to help you out, I'll amend the SLI statement until next week when I get it.
