FYI the 800 watt PC Power and Cooling Power supply works fine with this board. Although it does not have adjustable POTS like the 510 Deluxe SLI it makes up for it in cable lengths and raw power. There is about 5 inches sticking out of the back of My case but Lexan happened to be the right thicknes to hold it snug until I can get cases with deeper depth. I will probably put the 510 SLI back in but I had to know. It will fit if I move the 120 Milimeter Blow hole fan to the outside on the top ot the case. Maybe its time my PC's recieve a new Hat LOL

<scratches head> LOL I could have sworn you were using an X2 in one of them and a FX in the other...sorry about that. Any chance you've got an X2 laying around to test the vcore? Probably not huh?

Did anyone get in on it this morning? I received the auto notification from Newegg saying it was in stock. I hear that there were only two or four boards available. LOL.

Thats great news Squonk! I really appreciate the feedback. Looks like I found my next mobo. Now I just need to decide on a case. P180 or the Stacker 830? hhmmmm... I think I'll wait till after thanksgiving and see how things look then. I'm going to be out of town anyway so I can afford to wait a bit longer. Thanks again Squonk!

I've been running an X2 4400+ at stock voltage / speed and it's working great in
the A8N32. The vcore has been what I'd consider very stable and apparently accurate
(though I haven't checked it with a precision DMM or changed the value from 1.35V).
I've gotten readings from 1.35V under no load, to 1.34 Volts being most common to
somewhere between 1.33 and 1.34V under heavy StressPrime2004 loads on both X2 cores.

So basically it seems to be generating around 1.345 volts or so nominally and is maybe
dropping only around 0.01 volts under heavy CPU load, which is great in my opinion.

I've done about 40 hours of StressPRIME2004 testing on both cores and it's been
100% perfect from day one.

I'm still using socket 754, so when I first saw this board I knew it would be mine.

Apparently I got extremely lucky. The board was on sale for about 4 minutes at Newegg last night and by some miracle I happened to be looking at it. My order is on step 3. $250 is much more than I've ever paid for a motherboard but this thing is just beautiful as far as hardware goes lol.

I'm going to drop an Opteron 175 in it along with a 7800GT, should be a great setup. If the information about the revisions is correct I sure hope I get a 2.0.

QuixoticOne - could you try raising it to see how stable it is? Nothing insane like over 1.55 but it would be nice to know it's much more stable then my A8N-SLI Premium. Hell right now I can't even select anything beyond 1.45 in my bios anymore and I've tried them all...so I'm looking to replace this board before I RMA it then sell the one I get back

What do you guys think about the A8N32 Wifi version? Seems like most people who have it listed on their site has it for $10 more.

It is a nice feature to have, but then again I don't see myself taking my desktop to Starbucks.

Thanks for the MWAVE tip, manage to order from there. Here's hoping it actually ships.

What kind of power supply should I get with this motherboard and this system:

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego
2gb of Corsair ValueSelect RAM
eVGA Geforce 7800GTX
2x hd SATA Seagate 300gb
X-Fi Elite Pro sound card
LG DVD-ROM/Burner

I'm thinking of getting a 420W ATX 2.0 power supply, would it be enough?

Could any of you write Mwave in regards of the revision number that they are currently shipping? I'm trying to find out if revision 2 exists in fact...

Yes, I think a 420W would be enough, though if you can find a name brand, well reputed
480 or 500 on sale for not too much more money, I'd go for that.
I decided on an Antec TruePower 2.0 480W which was on sale for like $70 after rebate.
In the past I picked up a Maddog 500W PSU for $50 or so.

It's slightly heretical to post a DFI link in an ASUS thread, but this forum topic does
have some good listings of relatively well reputed power supplies:
http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10854

The 7800GTX almost certainly uses a special auxiliary 6-pin "pci express power connector"
cable that plugs right into it from the system power supply. It takes its extra power from
+12V. As I recall from my XFX 7800 series manual the 7800GTX should be budgeted
around 240 Watts just for its own power, and 250W for a SLI pair of them.
Anyway check your card, maybe EVGA gives you an adaptor to convert a 4-pin
flopppy or "hard drive" Molex input from the PSU to the 6-pin PCI-Express auxiliary power
connector, and if that's so you can use that if you have a spare input of those types
from your PSU. Otherwise and probably preferably look for a PSU with one or two
dedicated 6 pin PCI Express auxiliary power connectors available on it.

Eventually the prices will come down on the 7800GTX and maybe in time you'll want to
get another one for a SLI pair of them as that becomes more necessary to keep up
with the games and so on. If that's a consideration you may want to get something
like a SLI certified PSU that puts out a bit over 500W (510? 550? etc.) rather than
having an underpowered expensive PSU that couldn't handle that upgrade.

Also this motherboard takes a 24-pin ATX connector, so get one that natively supports
that without a cable adaptor.

Look for a combined +12V rail rating of well over 24 Amps, preferably 30A to 36A or
a bit more. If there are two +12V rails then you can probably add the ratings of each
one to compare it against other PSUs having only a single +12V rail.

I'd provbably be very scared to pay less than $50 and would balk at paying much more
than $80 for a "non SLI" PSU and maybe under $120 for a real name brand high quality
SLI certified 500+ watt PSU; look for Antec et. al. sales at Fry's / outpost.com etc.

Also consider whether features like integrated thermally sensitive case / PSU fan controls
in the PSU may be to you. I like the idea, but my box runs a little hot with the
Antec 480 since it turns down its fans to a very quiet speed at the expense of keeping the
PC about 8C hotter than it might otherwise be. The Maddog is nice in that it has buttons
to let you manually pick the PSU fan speed, though it has no integrated control for the
case fan too.

Good luck!
