Look at mvp.com for Golf stuff, cheapest i have ever seen this stuff. For all you golf fans, or anybody. This driver usually sells for $399 everywhere. If that's not a hot deal, i don't know what is!

pmpntl, thanks man, just ordered one, if I had your email address I would have put you down as the person who referred me so you could get bonus reward points. Anyways, thanks for the info. Great deal on a club I've been wanting.

OH MY F-ING GOD!!!! I can't believe it's that damn cheap!!!! Now I just have to figure out a way to convince the wife to let me buy it.....I could probably sell my Callaway Steelhead Plus and get enough for that bad boy.......I still can't believe this club is that cheap!!

UPDATE: Have you seen everything on their site?? It's all being cleared out! The Fairway wood ends up being about a hundred bucks! Get a set of Callaway X-12's for $300!!!!

That's the standard reps and warranties for a seller of other manufacturer's goods - if you look you'll find it on virtually all receipts or in store policies.

Just a heads-up for all you hackers out there. This driver is not a very forgiving club (that coming from a 4 handicap). I'd stick with an easier club to hit if you are 10 handicap or greater. However, this is a phenomenal price, nonetheless.

This is a pretty good club overall (especially because they make a lefty version). I strongly recommend that anyone getting this club, order it with the 10.5º loft. Unless your swing is absolutely perfect you will not be able to control the 9.5º club effectively. Regardless, this is a great deal.

Just remember, the best clubs on he market may not work well for you. To get the most out of your game, you should get a set of custom fitted clubs. I've tried hundreds of drivers and find that my Trident (custom made/shafted) keeps me in the fairway better than any high priced name brand club.

Who is the "4-handicap" that told you that?
Just make believe you're swinging a telephone pole- take it nice and slow.

That 4 handicap is ME, buddy. I played Division I NCAA golf, and still manage to shoot in the mid 70s most of the time considering I play about one-tenth as much as I did when I was in college. My ghin # is 6836830.

I think a better purchase for most people would be the Hawkeye Titanium GBB from Callaway at $154 and change shipped. I picked one up myself. I've wanted one for a while, but my budget simply hasn't allowed it. Its a much more forgiving driver than the Titleist, and I have the Steelhead 3 wood to match!

HeavyB:

What do you think of the Tommy Armour 845s irons for someone who has only played about 3 months (but got down to 16 handicap in that time). I need a real set of irons to play (pref. stiff graphite) and these look like a winner. Opinion?

Looks like they are sold out now. Glad I got in. Does anyone know if this comes with a Factory Titlest Headcover?

Urinal Mint,
The 845s would be a great choice for you. They are a very good club for the money. I've known good players and not so good players that have played them and they always have garnered high praise.

tiger does not actually use titleist golf clubs...all they do is give him x million dollars for the rights to have him be their spokesman...my golf instructor, a pga player, said that he knew tiger before he went pro and said tiger always played with a set of Mizuno set of golf clubs that didn't have hollowed out back-sides of the clubs...tiger's golf clubs might say titleist but if you look at them they look very similar to those Mitzuno (they aren't hollow on the back and all of titleists clubs are hollow on the back...he thinkgs titleist made him some mitzuno's and just put titleist on the back). If you go to buy a titleist club ask the seller if these are the same ones that tiger uses and he can't legally say yes...he will probably say that tiger likes titleist but can't say that tiger uses titleist clubs...just so you guys know)
i agree with whoever said the best are custom made...don't just have them slap it together cause that is shoddy custom made but find someone who will spend a few hours with you videotaping you and making sure you get the correct size for your swing...those will be the best set you ever had...just another idea)

I know from a past golf digest that showed his bag that he uses a steel shafted 975D and 975F woods. Don't remember what he used for irons, but he did/does carry a Mizuno MP-14 1 or 2 iron. Putter is a Titleist Scotty Cameron. I think he had Vokey wedges too.

I think it is funny how people will run out and buy clubs just because Tiger is hitting them. The reason Tiger is great is not his clubs, it's his swing. Like I heard somebody say today, "it isn't the arrow, it's the indian."
