I plan to be donated to science, if they will have me.
lmao, perfect. 10/10 stereotypical athiests

But then they'll have that mummified body in the ground to go talk to from time to time.Except when the human taxidermy known as embalming is used and the corpse is put in a steel coffin which is then placed inside of a stainless steel vault...
Burial is an expensive, wasteful scam.
Cremation is a WASTE of energy.
Put them in the ground...and nature does the rest....much more energy efficient.

I was being sarcastic. I'm atheist but don't mind religion at all. In fact I see it as something complementary to science, and representative of something good in humanity (even if it's often distorted in practice). What annoys me is when the religious take it too far and try to condemn atheism and science.

Wtf? You are truly a massive dick. What is the problem with donating the body to a hospital?
Go read up on HeLa cells. She saved more people after she died than alive.
I know, but you guys hold nothing sacred. Look at what Lonbjerg said. You guys probably wouldn't mind throwing a party at a cemetery "its just like a really big field, what gives?"
And I'm the dick, lol.
It's simple nugget.
Me = the process in my brain.
When they STOP...I am no more.
Gone...to be recycled by nature.
When I am dead...I don't care...because I am no more...you are irrationel...some religious crap made you too attached to your body after death?
And "sacred" is just an excuse for feeding lies with no protests...
People go to cemeteries to mourn. If my parents were dead, maybe I would go there on their birthday or something. Its a spiritual thing. Its not all about you, its about your family and people who knew you.
Its not irrational, people have been practicing stuff like this for a long time. Humans are irrational anyway, and as much as I'm sure you hate your own irrationality, you are an irrational human. Everybody is. Take a quick look around you. Get over it.
All atheists should start a movement to cremate everyone instead of believing in that idiotic notion of burial which causes tremendous damage to the environment and pollutes the earth. It is stupid of atheists to believe in that ritual as it is completely in the domain of the abrahamic religions to think the physical body is important and has some semblance of permanence according to their puerile mythology.
You should start with cremation of the founding fathers and all presidents as it is a colossal waste of space, resources, and causes a lot of pollution to bury those worthless corpses.
I would love to see atheists push for that and become proactive in protecting the environment and not give in to the idiotic mythology of the abrahamics.

What keeps you going ? What is your hope for your current life ?
If there is no God, if there is nothing after death, if there is no right/wrong determined by a higher power etc. Then, to be blunt, what keeps you from ending it all right now ?
I've had my share of heartache, and I see many many more people with far bigger struggles and troubles.
If I was completely sold on there being no God or afterlife, I sincerly believe I would have put a gun to my head long ago.
Everyone will agree that we take nothing with us when we die. None of our wealth, posessions or even loved ones.
So what is keeping you going ? What do you put your hope into ?
Been thinking about how depressing that would be, and really wanted to hear some feedback.
I totally beleive that many atheists live happy lives, but when you decide (if you decide) to start thinking about the further off questions about life, and what is next, who wouldn't be depressed to not have an answer ?

I think the better question is for religious people: if heaven is so great, then why don't religious people have a death wish so they can get there sooner?
Because they're not stupid. If you haven't noticed it usually has the exact opposite effect on people and it keeps people going when they hit rock bottom knowing whatever hard time they are having in life is impermanent/temporary in the grand scheme.
What keeps you going ? What is your hope for your current life ?
I am honestly not trying to start any kind of argument, I legitimately want to know what it is that you look forward to.
