well i took a picture of the glare difference between curved and non curved.
I honestly think its the glare that makes the biggest difference between curved and not.

The two ultrawides are curved, and the side in portrait is flat.

Personally I feel like if you want to have a monitor in portrait, you use a curved monitor. It's just so much more comfortable to look at considering its height, and the glare at the top and bottom is basically negligible if you have a curve.

For just horizontal, personally I like it, but it's not a big deal. Like Aigomorla said, the glare is probably the biggest factor.

I have a X34 Predator and to be honest, it's slight curvature is barely noticeable to me if at all. If you really wanted the "feel" of a curved screen where it wraps around your field of vision, I'd go for something with an 1800R curvature or similar.

Some men prefer curves, but every guy would agree natural 32+ inches is awesome

one question i have is how the curve affects someone who's sitting not in front of the monitor? for instance 2 people watching a movie on the screen from 2ft away.

i will be in the market for a new monitor in the near future, so i would definitely be looking into curved vs flat.
the bigger dilemma, in my opinion, will be 4K vs a high refresh rate 1440p. coming from a 1080p@120Hz it's hard to even consider a 60Hz screen.

The trouble with monitors is the ratio between center focus distance and corner focus distance can be really large. Especially on 21:9 monitors. Even on 27" 16:9 its not especially comfortable to try and look at the whole monitor at once where I have it. Further away it would be fine, but if I went any bigger I'd really start wanting a curved monitor to make focus from center to edge less tiresome. Doesn't help that my eyes are getting older. 10 years ago I would have probably been "Whats the big deal?"

What am I looking for here? You have one monitor turned on and the other two off and other than that I do not know what I am supposed to find.

they are all on...
its the difference between glare.

You can see the glare is more warped because of a concave reflection, vs a flat.
Hence making glare less noticeable on a curved monitor then a flat one.

I've the 32" flat screen HP Omen, and it's great. I honestly would prefer a 1080p >30" monitor, having played on a 40" 1080p monitor that was half busted. But the lowest I could get was 1440p. No idea why people would use a curved monitor, it distorts the image being displayed. Sod that.

I used to be completely against curved, but that was when I had all IPS displays. Since acquiring a couple of monitors with VA panels, I've learned to appreciate how a curved screen nearly eliminates some issues related to VA's narrow viewing angle, particularly colors washing out toward the edges on a flat 32".

I own the samsung odyssee G7 32". I tested it, before buying, and it is better for my eyes. Now I do have it for more than 1 month, and I am really very satisfied with it.

A slight curve is ok; but those majorly curved ones would drive me nuts.

I like ultra wides and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a display walks in with an itty bitty radius
And a round curve in your face
You get sprung, want to pull up tough
'Cause you notice that arc was puffed

Before I would buy one I would like to see it in person but my I haven't seen any on display in my local stores. I know alot or reviewers love the curved but I feel it's a preference that needs to be seen in person.
