Dan the torpedos....full speed ahead!!!
What I find most saddening about the flaming going since Dan's announcements is the incredable lack of logic and reading comprehension being displayed.
First, when Dan made his announcement, he did not mention how many blocks he would do. Someone else figured what the key rate would be. That came out to about 100 million blocks in a 24 hour period. That rate is, of course, if all of the machines were cracking at the same time.
Second, Dan NEVER said they would all be up at the same time. Nor did he say they would be starting today or tomorrow for that matter. Infact, he stated that this would occur over periods of weeks. He also stated that this would be for "burn-in" periods meaning a very short time. Perhaps a day maybe more, maybe less. Only when it happens will we know how long.
Also if one aplys logic and actually read what he wrote, we will never see a 100m block dump. This will come in waves. Maybe big 1 or 2 mill waves, but waves none the less.
Third, for the people who are complaining about how it would kill the competition and cause people to quit RC5, why would it? Because you'd have no chance at being number 1? What place are you in now? Are you in a postion to catch the Tortoise? If not, isn't the competition ruined already because you have absolutely no chance at beating that person?
Fourth, there was also talk about how it would be an "unfair" advantage. One could, by using that logic, say that it is an "unfair" advantage that the DPC had when they had that person with 9 million blocks join their team. Of course I didn't see anyone from TA crying about that assimilation. The same cannot be said of the DPC inregards to Danc's pending/potential assimilation.
In conclusion, after all I have read over the past few days, it seems pretty obvious who the better team really is. And that is Teamanand Tech. Regardless if Danc can pull this off or if he was/is just blowing smoke, it really has made one thing clear. It has made clear that the rivalry between TA and DPC is not a friendly one. All of the kissy kissy bullsh!t that goes on is just that, Bullsh!t. It has also shown who really is here for the Team Anandtech and who isn't. It has also shown that the DPC are only friendly when they can gloat over megaflushes and when they are ahead. Their true colors have come out. They are just whiney crybabies and trolls.
To Danc: Make this happen. But know that even if it doesn't, we love you man! I am betting that now you will make this happen and then some.
To DPC: If I may be so bold as to speak for other members of TA, please leave your trolls at home. If you have nothing positive to add to the threads, then please shut up. Thank you.
