Nod. Agreed. It's not just features you're paying for. It's also to support the forums as well. I've saved more than $30 from the Hot Deals alone so it's more than worth it for me.

People who pointlessly insult those of us who can't afford to subscribe or don't have any reason to == Lame

people who complain about a free service=lamest of them all

they support the forums through the adds

the issue is the ads of the left seem to be forcing people to subscribe

i subscribe but if there weren't any non-subscribers that came here or if AT became subscriber only i would go elsewhere

Do you think AT would make more money from the ads or from the subscribers? Naturally, the subscribers. So it'd be better for everyone to subscribe and they're kind enough to let the rest of us use it for the much lesser revenue the garner off the ads. I'm not really complaining about them, but when the forum whines in general no one can really take it too seriously.

there is a big difference Mr. Cow....I thought they were fast before...but there is no lag at all...I really am impressed!

not really. i was a subscriber for a year up until march. if you had said that, say last march when i subscribed, then i was a HUGE difference. the non-sub servers back then were insanely slow. it's pretty quick nowadays thank god.

i give myself a week or so before i wont notice those new ads.

Hmm, the only reason there that I would want to join for is the first one. I almost never use PMs, I don't mind the ads. But I am not ready to shell out $30 just for a website that I visit maybe once a day. Especially when I only make minimum wage, have tuition and gas to pay for, and both a girlfriend and a car that like to suck up money.

The forums have plenty of speed and features, and if you know what you're doing you can make the ads disappear. I don't waste money.

$2.50 a month is a lot of money? What, are you on welfare?

And that's a sure way to prevent some people (like me) from subscribing. Provide positive benefits to being a subscriber, and I'd gladly do it (if I had a credit card), but try to annoy me into subscribing with BS like this, and you'll find that I not only don't subscribe but try to find ways around your intrusive ads also. :frown:

well said. this stupid ad stunt is enough for me to never subscribe.

It's not $2.50 a month, it's $30 for a year. There is no monthly pay option.

i like the ads!! instead of my pages loading 1/2 way at a time. it loads all at once. true, i have to wait a few seconds, but it's worth the wait! seems faster than when the ads werent on the side.
