it is a sad day

it never really comes home until something in your own country happens, i couldnt believe it

I live in swindon off of the london main line (railway) we had a train stopped coming from paddington (London station) after finding a suspect parcel, but i heard the bomb squad ended up blowing up some birthday gifts .. you can never be too sure tho..

My condolences and prayers to the people of London

Well, it looks like we're all safe and well on here (ATOT UK'ers, that is). I was travelling round London on the M25 when I heard the news on the radio, and then when I came back down the M1 from Bedford, the traffic was insane. Took me an extra hour and a quarter to get back to the office on top of a two-hour journey; everyone was pouring out of London and heading for either home or elsewhere. I don't think I've been in such bad road conditions for many years; driving rain, hundreds of cars and police everywhere, unmarked cars, marked cars, vans... even the Military Police were out and gunning it through the traffic. It looked like they'd summoned up as many police as possible from a rather large area.

I knew this was coming, and I think we all did in a small way.
However, we've been dealing with the IRA for many years, so it's not as shocking for us. Still, sympathies to those who died today.

One last thing: I don't think this is the end of it. My personal feelings are that this was a warning, as the loss of life was low compared to the other AQuaeda attacks. I think they're planning something bigger.

Lord help us all.

The Brits have always been a resilient people to adversity. Actually, I have no doubt they will come out stronger from this incident. Cheers brothers across the sea

But I'm still going to call you all a bunch of Wankers

The CNN's headline is now,

"LONDON BOMBERS HUNTED"

Does this mean the bombers are caught? ? ?

My favorite:

"We took on the Romans, the Saxons, the Danes, the French, William Wallace, the Black Plague, the Roundheads, the Great Fire, Napoleon, the Nazis, and the Blitz, and we're still here. You terrorists are bloody amateurs."

Gold, someone make some free t-shirts for them with this on it and send them over.

Thanks everyone.

I live around 13(?) miles south of the centre of London in Croydon. Our main station (apparently the busiest train station in the UK!!) was closed today for obvious reasons.

Sure brings it home when its literally 5 mins down the road. I first heard about it when I got into work and the TV was on!

Luckily I didn't take public transport today...

The phone networks were going crazy... and I'm not surprised. I must have used my phone 10 times more than I'd normally do!
