will a GM cat. converter work on a ford? i am considering getting a crown vic(found a few, 89, 91 and 92) but they'll probably need new cats to pass emissions. i just called a buddy at work and got him to look up the prices for new cars, and they were between $250 and $300 canadian each. i know for an 88 caprice(decided not to get it) we sold 'universal' fit cats for GM's for $90. If i get the right adapters to fit the pipe size, can i make this work on a ford? a cat is a cat right?
also, does anyone know of any problems with the first year of 4.6 SOHC? they switched from using a 5.0 to the 4.6 in 92. this one had 188k km's on it, and still purred like a kitten, where the 89 5.0 was hunting on idle a bit(i think it's the AC compressor that's shot and causing it to do this though)
