I personally encourage fatties. I make them cookies. I'm hoping mother nature takes care of the rest.

Maybe we should change the threshold for "Obesity" to make it more reasonable. Someone who is 5 foot 8 and 200 pounds might be 25ish pounds overweight, but they sure as hell aren't Obese.

Assuming Wikipedia is accurate, I think the definition of obese is correct(starts at 30BMI)

changing it will not make you healthier

and even worse because you will think you are healthier than you are you will do things that make your situation worse

i can eat 1 more pizza it is not that i am obese or something

reality and facts remain
it does not matter what words we use or not

if we stop using fat obese at all
that will make people healthier or disease free???

the words there and the scale is for a reason
to realize you are not healthy and fix it

denying reality will not change reality

Ummm, yes they are. 200 at 5'8" is obese. The problem is that you're picturing "morbidly obese". Just because someone isn't bedridden and having food shoveled into their face because they can't reach their mouth doesn't mean they're not obese.

25 lbs overweight...that's 87,500 calories overweight. That's:

580+ Twinkies

or

2320 Ounces of chocolate ice cream

or

48 bags of Doritos cool ranch chips.

You don't wake up one day and so, HOLY SHIT I'M 25 LBS OVERWEIGHT WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT!?

Fatties know what they're doing. They fucking know.

Also 5'8" @ 200 lbs is 34 lbs overweight for the very tippy top of 'not overweight' according to BMI standards. So add 50% to that.

Bro get off my shit. Shouldn't you be looking for a job or making your house not smell like cats?

I could go for years without a job.

I'll go when I find the right one, it's in process.

House doesn't smell like cats.

I'm 5'8" and there was a point where I was 185 and I look back at pictures and I was fat.

Now I'm down to 168 and I feel better about just about everything. I couldn't even imagine being 5'8" and 200 lbs.

so having a lifestyle know to cause diseases and cause you to die earlier
should be accepted???

then take off all the bans for the smokers

if killing yourself is okey
then a smoker should not also feel bad for him

in the past seeing people smoking in the tv was normal
now no one is smoking
why??
because we decided is not healthy and we will not contribute to this

so we are going to change smoking with fat????

yes this people need help
to return to a more normal healthy weight
using a chair to moove around because they can not walk
is not a solution
it makes the problem worse

Why not? Some people like to drink, smoke or do whatever. We all have unhealthy habits. Most Americans don't get enough sleep which also causes a variety of health hazards. Should we pick on them too?

Change the standards to make people feel better? That'll help.

not accepting is to help the person he is on the wrong and correct

if you say all is okey
the person has no reason to change

and since no one is forcing fat people on a diet
smokers quit smoking

but not forcing them to stop
does not men we should change attitude and say
its okey you are fine

Just pulled up the gubment' BMI chart 'cause I dropped a little more weight since we've had one of these threads. Down to 210 @ 6'4'', sub 10% bf, six pack, lat muscles are shredded, my triceps have triceps etc. The whole sha'bang, no humble brag.

BMI = 25 = Overweight.

Obama's america, folks.

I think you need to learn proper grammar, punctuation and how to write so as not to sound like an idiot. You might think it's okay to write as you wish but how you come across to others has a direct effect on your potential success (or lack thereof) in life. This is a problem as people in lower income bracket often face more health problems as they are unable to afford proper care.

Heh, sorry couldn't resist.

Go join the Marines and do something useful then.

I did that once.

Or you can hang out and talk about your BMI.

39 years old, 5'8", 168 pounds and scored a 274 out of 300 on my last Army PT test. I run a 15:00 2-mile, 14:00 if I train for it. BMI = 25.5, overweight.

When I went through basic back in 1995 I came out weighing 152 pounds. I feel like it would be impossible to get back down to that weight at this point short of 2-3 hour daily workouts.

1) Obama has nothing to do with it. sheesh

This is one of the issues with BMI. A year ago the school sent home a letter saying my son's BMI was high. I was like wtf. my kids are in gymnastics, wrestling and a weird self defense class (it combines a ton of different stuff). he is short but very dense. we took the letter to his doctor who laughed at it. he said not to worry about and if the school continued he would write a letter.

BMI does not take into account every body type. sure it works for someone who is fat (but do we really need a BMI for them? lol) but not accurate on some who are active

Living in the South for years, I have to say that we do have a lot of HUGE (not just a bit overweight) people here. Those folks will raise the cost of health care when they are older for sure.

Oh cmon that's all you can get in that age bracket? I'd kill to be graded in that category I'd probably get like a 400.

Good for you I used to run a 20 minute 3 mile.

Kudos.

I can't do that at 54 I guess.
