For the drive home it is advisable. Some Docs use only a local, but I think most now knock you out completely. If they knock you out completely, you may feel the effects for a day or more after. And if they remove anything, you might feel discomfort afterwards, too.

Oh Ya. most definitely need a driver. I wasn't knocked-out quite as well as I should have been though. maybe last procedure of the day sort of thing.

I don't know what they knock you out with, but I've never gone down so fast and was totally sober after they brought me around. They've taken out all the fun out of anesthesia.

Most states consider you to be under the influence if you've had moderate sedation, it's dangerous to allow anyone to drive or even take a taxi/public transportation home after a procedure where you've been sedated.

People's reaction to any sedation varies wildly, because of multiple factors.

Pretty much, had to drive my dad home after the procedure.

Procedure showed no problems and no issues during the procedure - sedated with no problems.
