Not a hot deal, especially considering these guys are relatively unknown. That's the going rate for this monitor.

Plus, they want $65 for ground shipping to Washington DC.... a bit excessive, to say the least.

I dont know, but as a rule NEC monitors rock (naturally, me saying that will have swarms of people posting now that they suck). I was surprised to find that it's widely $300.... and note that this is a higher end .26 monitor. Definitely not bad, especially from a reputable name like NEC.

If you're going to get it, though, I'd suggest ordering from buy.com or onvia.com, both of which have coupons available and won't soak you on shipping.

They actually have been around awhile. I am a proud owner of a Motherboard from them. They usually advertize in Microtimes and show up at the Computer Fair. They're pretty decent but they are located in SoCal and since D.C. is all the way over across the US the shipping is excessive.

Check its model. I think its FPxxx is the best, next is FExxx. Axxx model is its entry level monitors.

If .26mm and 1600x1280 max res is entry level, then you don't need anything more than entry level. Especially at $300.

I've opted to get this monitor. Thank you all for your input. It will be a nice upgrade from my Compaq MV 400 14".
