Today's Nascar race at Indy is an embarrassment

Nascar and Goodyear really blew it this week. The tires they have brought can't make it more then 10 laps without blowing, some not even that long, so Nascar is putting out the caution flag every 10 laps so people can change tires. Its pathetic to watch.

Looks like the people at the track agree. Lots of empty seats in the stands.

Yeah only with F1 there were two tire makers in the field and only one had the problem. Everybody on the bad tire which was around 3/4s of the field just sat it out.

A few years ago one manufacturers tyres [Michelin] couldn't handle the banking so those cars elected not to run.
The Bridgestone cars did run (all 6 of them).

Was 2004-ish I think.

I wish one of the crew guys would grow a pair and just say "THIS IS BS!!!!" when they get interviewed. Even the outspoken Toney Stewart is letting me down.

They put out a warning that they could not guarantee that the tyre's (tires) wouldn't sheer so the drivers of those cars elected not to drive out of their own safety which you cannot blame them for. It was handled very badly, it's not as if they didn't know it was coming. Interestingly enough apparently they said if they put in a chicane on the final corner to slow the cars down for that particular bend then they'd be safe to go.

Bad day for F1 promotion.
