I do not understand the monumental lack of planning and execution that allowed a HUGE insurgent movement to spring up in a country we supposedly conquered almost 2 years ago, and where the majority of the people supposedly love democracy. It really does not make a lot of sense. What is driving this whole thing? We call them terrorists, but there seem to be far too many to even approach Bin Laden's most optimistic projections I would think.

Not really. They would have another step right in and in short order. That would be like bush getting killed. I am sure they could find another religious f.aggot rather quickly.

THe Boogy Man Captured ?

Don't think so. If he really was captured all they would have gotten
is a third rate thug that they make out to be a 'Mastermind' - which he is not.

They would then have to manufacture another 'Embodyment of Evil' to put a name on,
so as to polarize the rage against an elusive enemy by assigining a new Boogy Man role.

Hmm, could planning have been better? Yeah, probably. Hindsight is 20-20. Insurgency is not a new thing though. I wouldnt take that article too seriously, a frenchmen wrote it lol... Notice how the title makes you think our military is fighting 200,000 people, yet in the article it mentions the "core fighting strength" is 20,000, meaning 180,000 people help them. Those numbers are one mans guess. Even if those numbers are right, well that only leaves about 23.8 million people. Funny you dont see that stat in the article. Typical smear job by people who want the US to fail.

Wow, whatta spin. Makes me wonder how you didn't get dizzy. Let's see:
[*]"One man's guess" being the intelligence chief's estimate?
[*]"frenchman wrote it". Quite desperate to ingore the facts, eh? But here's the same thing from americans: http://washingtontimes.com/upi...50104-110330-6820r.htm. You can search google, you will fine the same article from pretty much any nationality you desire.
[*]20 000? Let me quote the guy " Shahwani said there were at least 40,000 hardcore fighters attacking U.S. and Iraqi troops". Here's an interesting fact: 40k is twice as large as 20k.
[*]Another intersting thing, of the 150k troops in Iraq, not all of them are 'combat'. A lot of them provide logistical support, drive trucks, do vehicle maintanance, cook etc.

Anyway, here are some products you might be intersted in buying

Heh. Ok....

One mans guess.... yes the intelligence cheifs estimate. I'll give you that, i assume he would know if anyone. But that wasnt my point.

The frenchman wrote it was a joke. Ignoring the facts? Show me where i said something wasnt true.

The 20,000 was a typo on my part, it should have read 40,000. But it doesnt change my point, the misleading article. Sympathizers dont equal insurgents.

And i am well aware of the different types of troops in Iraq, i was in the military.

By the way, your sarcasm is pathetic. Have a nice day.

Yeah. C'mon Perk, it was a typo.

And when he said this..."...it mentions the "core fighting strength" is 20,000, meaning 180,000 people help them." That was a typo too.

And when he said this..."that only leaves about 23.8 million people." That was a typo too.

Either this joker doesn't know what a typo is, or he's yet another 'list' candidate.

Follow along......Why is this so hard to understand? It lists the baathist core strength at 20,000. When i went back to read it again when i was posting i saw that number, it should have been 40,000. But i thought it was 20. I used 20 in my calculations, because... like i said... i thought it was 20. Do you need me to say it again?

Ah, ok. I suggest you look up the definition of typo. I wonder what other words you're using that you have no idea what they mean.

Don't be too hard on him Gaard. Remember that the word "mistake" isn't in most Bushies' vocabulary ... at least not when applied to themselves. At least he'll admit to a "typo". That's better than some of his peers.

Ever since the other bushies ran away, we've haven't had the chance to really pounce on anyone. You should have seen this place in early '03, it looked like the republican convention.

Don't worry about it. They rarely get a chance to pounce like that anymore. I mean the way the forum has been cleared of dissenting viewpoints(for multiple reasons) - it's hard for them to get those of us remaining to trip up - let alone "own" a debate. Sure they have their circle-jerks but hey they keep losing elections so self gratification seems to be their only recourse!
Anyway - don't sweat the mistake. They won't believe it was an honest mistake because it would render their pile-on toothless - but it sure is fun to see the left flailing around since the election! agreed?
