Hmm, could planning have been better? Yeah, probably. Hindsight is 20-20. Insurgency is not a new thing though. I wouldnt take that article too seriously, a frenchmen wrote it lol... Notice how the title makes you think our military is fighting 200,000 people, yet in the article it mentions the "core fighting strength" is 20,000, meaning 180,000 people help them. Those numbers are one mans guess. Even if those numbers are right, well that only leaves about 23.8 million people. Funny you dont see that stat in the article. Typical smear job by people who want the US to fail.

Wow, whatta spin. Makes me wonder how you didn't get dizzy. Let's see:
"One man's guess" being the intelligence chief's estimate?
"frenchman wrote it". Quite desperate to ingore the facts, eh? But here's the same thing from americans:
http://washingtontimes.com/upi...50104-110330-6820r.htm. You can search google, you will fine the same article from pretty much any nationality you desire.
20 000? Let me quote the guy " Shahwani said there were at least 40,000 hardcore fighters attacking U.S. and Iraqi troops". Here's an interesting fact: 40k is twice as large as 20k.
Another intersting thing, of the 150k troops in Iraq, not all of them are 'combat'. A lot of them provide logistical support, drive trucks, do vehicle maintanance, cook etc.
Anyway, here are some products you might be intersted in buying
