My career involves me working with biometric technology, everything from fingerprint authentication to facial skin texture analysis. Just so you know, the Microsoft fingerprint reader does not encrypt data. Your fingerprint template is just sent in raw mode as data. Furthermore, it's very limited as to what programs it will work with (it doesn't even work with Firefox).
I'm not anti-Microsoft, just wanted to warn those interested that it is not a secure device and is easy to tap passwords associated with it.
