Nope, not kidding at all. Absolutely serious. There are scientific studies on the matter...after a flush, they swabbed a number of surfaces in the bathroom, including sinks, floors, combs, hairbrushes, toothbrushes, etc., and found contamination everywhere, when the lid is left up; and the aerosolized particles continued to collect for up to 6 hours after the flush. This didn't occur when the lid was left down. Common sense really. I wouldn't want to brush with that stuff on my toothbrush.

Yes, of course, if the lid is up the particles get aerosolized by the force of the flush...you can easily test this theory by placing your face...oh wait, that's too disgusting to discuss in public :disgust: :Q ...so let's just say you can have a lab analysis done.
Of course, the easy solution is to simply ALWAYS put the lid down, then there is no problem.
