Today I saw a random post from a friend who reinstalled 'Evil Genius' on his PC and is really enjoying it because his system is so much better than the original platform he was using when he bought the game. I googled the game and I've seen a few mods and that kicked me into thinking...
The game, if you don't know, has an evil genius running an island while also planning to conquer the world. (I never could win on hard; I always ran out of money.) This is an allocation game where you have to task henchmen and objects in the moment. You have three main areas: the island above ground, below ground and world domination. On the island, you develop your underground lair for your inventions, collections and minions and above ground you must satisfy island guests as your cover. To me it was fun.
So now after watching two seasons of Westworld, I was thinking can I mod the game to reflect the series? The above ground would be the theme park, below ground would be the operations (Mesa, outposts, etc.), and the world map would theme park additions?
Can I be Ford or Bernard or Delores or William instead of the 'Evil Genius'? Could we take the game system and strip it down even further and expand it to mulitplayer (you as Ford playing against a Delores or William player)?
Basically as Bernard, winning conditions:
- Keep the guests safe from rogue robots
- Keep the robot fatalities down
As Ford:
- Set up the deaths of as many of guests as possible
- Save as many robots (to the VR world) as possible
Human:
- Come in after the long journey into the night
- Capture Delores, Ford, Bernard
- Capture the main robot brain
William:
- Shut down the park from the below ground structure
- Delete the memory core
