Toledo X2 3800+ Available now

Is it any better? Any chance of enabling the dissabled cache? And what about overclocking, I've been hearing things either way about Manchester vs. Toledo overclocking. If half cache is dissabled wouldn't that mean these chips failed to be true toledos?

Obviously the best case senario is that Manchester demands (3800+/4200+) are much higher than for 4400+/4800+ Toledos, and they're pushing some Toledo cores at lower speeds (dissabling cache) to ease some of that demand.

Because these are "real" 3800+s, potentially better as well in terms of tweaking. And then there's the fact that some of us have to pay tax on that deal. The motherboard may be worth $70, but it isn't worth it to me if I can get this chip for $360 out the door as opposed to $410 after tax and shipping...now if I didn't have to pay tax the shipping and $20 higher cost might be worth it to me, but I'm not going to pay $50 for a low end motherboard I don't really need.

this might be a good deal for somebody, but Newegg has the X2 3800+ for $374 shipped free. Not sure if that's the best price going, just a point of reference.

Hmmm... I don't know about that. This is confusing. That is the same chip model number as the boxes we have; but they came in under the box part number of ADA3800BVBOX. However, the part numbers on the processors themselves are ADA3800DAA5CD. I really don't know if that model is Toledo or Manchester... nobody seems to agree. All we can get for sure is that it's an E6 stepping...

This is the same CPU (different core) for $360 (free shipping), $14 cheaper...Price watch also confirms $360 as a low (but not from ewiz)

okay i decided that i want an an ASUS nf4 sli or a DFI nf4 sli; so i am not going to get the fry's-outpost deal.

if i want to overclock, is the manchester 3800+ better or the toledo 3800+?

i am guessing they are the same at stock speed.

In for one of these 3800+ Toledo X2's. Gonna pair it with the new motherboard by asrock. Here are the specs and ewiz sells it for $65 bucks via froogle:

Ah! I notice that the Manchester core has 2x64KB L1 as opposed to 2x128KB L1 on the Toledo. Is that the only difference?

I picked up a combo for a customer yeterday. The cpu it came with has 64k L1 and 512 L2. That makes it a toledo?

So, which is better , manchester or toledo?
