I'm playing on the PC, and I do have one problem - whenever I 'matchmake' to do a mission on Hard, there tend to be some players that really do not belong in the group.

Are you referring to skill level or something else? Because you can't really filter by skill level other than friends only groups.

But when I joined the 'social chat' (I had to change a setting), there's so much spam in different languages in that chat that I had no chance of finding a group my level.

Unless they separate the servers somehow for regions I don't know how this will be fixed. As for people who don't belong, that happens. Sometimes it's people who want to be carried through and just grab rewards/loot. I've seen it in other games that have matchmaking.

I canceled my pre-order of this game on Steam cause I didn't think I'd play it enough (I've got Steam games I've bought but haven't even played yet). I'm not as much of a gamer as I used to be too.

But man, now I'm kinda wishing I hadn't, lol. But I do have credit in my Steam wallet. I'm thinking about picking it up if there's people from AT that play, and if it's possible to play solo too.

I am following along and debating about getting this game on PC. Used to play the Battlefield games and really had a lot of fun until BF4, and did not even buy the last one. So, I guess awaiting more opinions and seeing if players are getting there moneys worth and enjoying it or not. I know so far it is single or multi -player, but to enjoy it, is it required to play multi- player? Is it a "must" to use a mic or do you just not fit in at all without one?

I was trying to do this one mission solo and it said level 10 but I was level 9. kept getting my ass kicked. it sucked because I would do fine all the up to like the last 1 or 2 bad guys (1 is a elite boss type) and I would keep dying. he did way too much damage to me.

Mine's clamum.

Decided to pick it up, haha. I dunno why, but I swear the Stadium mission when you get to Manhattan is really fucking hard now. I played through it twice during beta and I never died once. I died about six times now and just gave up cause I got pissed off. What the fuck? There were two special bosses too; for a solo player? Guh. I have an AR-15 with a 4x optic and I can pick off the first wave and a half, but they just overpower me.

Is that the Madison square hospital mission? I don't remember a stadium mission in the beta. It was the hospital one and the tech wing mission which involved a bunch of guys with flamethrowers. I remember the missions getting harder the with the more people you had in a group. I did the hospital one by myself.

Well, I set a mission to 'hard', and then click on matchmake. I tried the one with flamethrowers the last night and the minimum recommended level was 6, I think, maybe 7. I went in at 7, there was another 6, a 6, and a 4. One six disconnected immediately and the difficulty didn't lower that I could see, and we kept getting slaughtered. It felt like I was the only one doing any damage, and others were simply hiding in cover waiting - once in a while buffing. It was a completely inappropriate group - I simply quit.

I finally figured out thanks to a previous poster here to use the menu and add friends, but I guess I hoped to be able to right click their name in game and add them on steam since their username is not necessarily their steam name.

Having said this - the game is a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to finishing it but it'll be another experience where for 'end game' you'll be completely dependent on finding good people to team up with. Hoping I meet some good players on the way.

Thats because you were literally the only one doing damage.

There are a few issues atm. One is a mission is setup for the number of members in the group times the level of the highest member in the group when first started. It never scales dynamically after that. So it was scaled like there were 4 level 7 players.

The second is that damage against higher level enemies scales for crap. It seems like you do noticeably less damage to an enemy even 1 level higher and it gets rapidly worse from there. The remaining 6 was hitting like a wet noodle and the 4 was just a bullet stop.

Hard is really hard in this game. If you're looking to lvl quickly and progress, it's probably best to just blow by the missions on normal. If you want the challenge and the extra reward, it's fun to play on hard though. I think all the enemies are like purple or orange in hard.

Most of the reviews talk about good so far but questions once you've been at max level a bit.

Decided to use GCU and a coupon I had to order anyway, guess i'll see in a couple days.

Enemies go up to lv32 in challenge mode.
Massive screwed up loot ratios at launch, now they reduced rates but there are people with millions of regular credits and thousands of phoenix credits. I've seen people with 200k+ DPS and maxed out gear.

There are also people who have put in 100+ hours in the last week.

I'm surprised at how well this actually runs on my GTX 580 1.5 gbs in SLI (at 1080p with lots of things turned down). I got it because I couldn't wait to build a new PC to play this game - and it's a lot of fun. I'm playing on the PC, and I do have one problem - whenever I 'matchmake' to do a mission on Hard, there tend to be some players that really do not belong in the group. But when I joined the 'social chat' (I had to change a setting), there's so much spam in different languages in that chat that I had no chance of finding a group my level.

How does one go about (say I'm going to play for 4-5 hours) trying to find a group to get a couple of missions done and roam around a bit? I got into the game on my friend's PS4 and I guess it was easier because he has a very active friends list, whereas no one on my Steam friends list plays. (I play EU timezones...for anyone interested).

I actually think this game looks better with some of the setting turned down. With everything turned up it looks too grainy and cloudy to me. Even though I have a OCed 980ti I play with a mix of High and Medium settings with AO on low. This looks much more cleaner to me, and the frame rate and the smoothness is just that much better.

Early bird gets the worm. Isn't that always how it is with games like this? I've had that happen many of times in D3 after patches and updates and such. I guess, in this game where there is somewhat pvp in the DZ, imbalance in player gear might be a slight problem though.

While DPS isn't everything, it is the single most relevant stat.

DZ shouldn't be split based on level but rather based on DPS and HP.
Until they address the balance, I'm staying away from DZ.

Or at least some aggregate stat that takes into account the quality of your gear. Straight up dps and hp is too simple.
