Not only does it get to 4.1Ghz, it stays there. Unlike those styrofoam liquid hydrogen cooling demos that only last a few minutes.

What exactly do chip makers do to increase clock rate like they do? Core changes or something?

Well, in the case of the Pentium 4, they just drop the power of the core, neuter the chip, and up the price. Wow, clock speed increase!

Wow, so the actual FSB is 179.... not actually all that unattainable. Some people get 166-170 FSB, so 179 seems fairly doable if you have the right equipment. Bear in mind it's quad pumped, so it ends up at 716, but that's not the base value. (hence the QDR after the 716 value)

Pentium 4 2.6GHz = $283

So much cheaper, and I wonder which would perform better

Anyway, I don't need 4GHz yet (although that's a pretty sweet system he's got there, I wouldnt mind that little compressor in my box), I just want the 3.2's to come out so i can get a 3.06HT for a bit less than its at now...

The 2800+ and 3.06 trade places Yes, they are ~ the same. Except that you can actually buy a 3.06.

My bad on that one. I was looking on Googlegear's site since they generally have the same CPU's as Newegg but at a lower price.

NewEgg has OEM 2800+ for $394

psst... i think hes refering to chips like the $60 1700+, not the one chip that happens to be equal in pricing to intel chips
