Robinson, the former head of the English Defense League and a longtime activist against Islam and Islamic migration, was arrested after he was filming men accused of being part of a gang that groomed children. Britain has been rocked by a series of child sex scandals perpetuated by gangs of predominantly Muslim men

UKIP peer Malcolm Lord Pearson has threatened Home Secretary Sajid Javid, saying if Tommy comes to harm in prison he will mount a ‘private prosecution’ against him.

I'd assume their government reserves ultimate control over both.

George Orwell was a Brit and hit it spot on. They don’t have the US Constitution but they do have the same sorts of issues like this brought up. May be enshrined in law I don’t know. But they definitely face the Big Brother overreach just like we do.

The UK has strict rules around court reporting aimed at limiting the risk of influencing a trial's outcome.

Robinson violated those rules in May of 2017, when he filmed inside the courthouse during another sex abuse case. He received a three-month prison sentence for contempt of court, but his sentence was suspended for 18 months on condition that he not commit any other offenses.

At the time, Judge Heather Norton of Canterbury Crown Court excoriated Robinson for publishing videos online that referred to the defendants as "Muslim pedophile rapists" while the trial was ongoing.

"It is pejorative language which prejudges the case, and it is language and reporting — if reporting indeed is what it is — that could have had the effect of substantially derailing the trial," Norton said.

She also warned Robinson that any future violations would land him behind bars. "In short, Mr. Yaxley-Lennon, turn up at another court, refer to people as 'Muslim pedophiles, Muslim rapists' and so on and so forth while trials are ongoing and before there has been a finding by a jury that that is what they are, and you will find yourself inside," the judge told Robinson. "Do you understand?""

Clearly stated, he cant do the same thing and not expect to see jail this time. So yea, I'll agree with it. The trial regarding the child grooming is still on going, and I hope they all get what's coming to them also.

I think you are very confused. Let me explain to it to you slowly like you are used to, conservatives on SCOTUS voted to take away workers right to sue over abuse and wage theft and forced them to go into arbitration. Not Social Justice Warriors, not Tech Liberals, not bathroom rights people. Republicans put the working middle class into the situation it is today. But you worry about what UK courts are doing. Maybe you deserve your situation.

Tommy Robinson is a piece of shit and is not a journalist in any meaningful sense of the word.

There's a big court case going on against a grooming gang - the case is actually being split up into four smaller cases - and the media blackout is in place to ensure that the defendants get a fair trial.

Tommy Robinson's actions have actually made it more likely that the gang don't get convicted because their lawyers can submit a motion to declare a mistrial.

If I was on a suspended sentence and told by a judge in court DO NOT DO THIS PARTICULAR THING, and I went out and did EXACTLY what they told me not to, I would expect to be arrested. If I thought the judge was unfair I would seek an appeal or another lawful way rather than just ignoring the terms of my probation.
