I think Amazon has it for cheaper, but if you look around a bit, I bet you could find an even better price. The 910 is suppose to be a really good unit from what I've read about it. I think that is cool that it has a mp3 player in it too, and tomtom just announced that it has a new FM transmitter mount you can get that allows it to connect to wirelessly connect with your car stereo which is amazing. The maps for it are the most up to date on the market too since it just got brand new ones from its supplier.

could get a mio 310 for $199 and just load the tomtom software on there, along with VLC player, etc.

royaldank, do you have a link to a thread that discusses your suggestion in greater detail - that would make nav systems doable ! thanks

A really good place for info on GPS is also yournav.com - its a gps forum and people on it are really helpful.

Another good unit the make is the ONE that is on sale at (bare with me) toys-r-us for just $300, which is a really good price - link It doesn't have a mp3 player or a couple other of the advanced features of the 910, but its still a really good unit. I've used it quite a bit and highly recommend it.

Nothing on Cnet or Amazon? They've both had good reviews on the 910 which I just got out of the box last week and have started playing with - the mp3 player is money. You try posting on Yournav? That seems like the best bet.

The best one that never loses a signal is this one: powered by the moonlight

People do travel around. People do relocate.
People do trying to find out different Restaurant, etc.
And I have lived in D.C. metro area for 20 years, I still got lost in some part of the city. (not to mention heading to NYC which is only 3 hours away)

I am sure conventional map is great and never loses signal, but if you are already lost, and don't even know which way of a brdige you should get off.. then I don't think you have time to park your car in the middle of downtown road.

p.s. Tomtom Go 910 is $345 this week at OD

Sorry... I meant B&M TT1 for $249, TT510 for $349 and TT910 for $449.
(I happen to get the TT510, since I just need bigger screen)

I can't believe how cheap gps units are getting now, the tomtom one for just $250 is a great price for a really good device. I'm using the 910 now which is the best on the market imo because of all it has (and i'm still learning to use) and now that's under $500 now too. crazy how affordable their getting now.

Thanks for the link. I scoured it looking for any advice about updated maps for my Roadmate 300. No answers, but plenty of other people with the same problem! I'm driving around with maps from Jan. 2004. It's very frustrating when a company is perfectly capable of selling you something that you want to give them money for, but they just won't sell it to you!

It is because they want you to send them $400 their way and not $50 for an update....

But instead I will send my next $400 to a different company who follows through with what they say they will do. Seriously, when I power the unit on I get a message saying that I should go to the website and buy new maps because mine are over a year old. . . . But they don't exist.
