LOL, I didn't think of it that way.

WEAK! dumb ending...ALL the plot twists were resolved in 1 hr?!

then there's the weak plot twist for next season?

yeah, i agree it should be called 48 hrs. (but i bet eddie murphy or diane sawyer would sue)

or "another 24"

i liked season 1's ending MUCH better.

No problem, it's always under my account at Tyler's pic hosting site

Dudd, killing or an attempted killing of a US president has a high toll on everyone; remember the assignation of President Kennedy

I wondered about that.... what is the actresses name?

That was beyond awful. Who were those two guys at the end? Why, after their initial plan was a nuke, did they resort to such a low tech and low death toll act as a simple prez assasination? And dammit, why didn't Kim or Sherry die? Simply an awful, awful final episode. It went like something I might turn out at 12:30 at night the day before a deadline for an English paper. No semblance of a cohesive plot, just BS designed to fill up time.

it's called wrapping up the plot. it was not meant to be a cohesive, self-contained story in that one episode.

It was the way they wrapped things up. Everything's coming down to this one hour. The bombers are about to arrive, Jack is preparing for his final showdown, and then it all starts to happen. CTU jumps back on board, the meeting starts, and then the shootout happens. Jack kills a bunch of guys, but gets surprised at the end. Fight ensues, Jack wins, but Shingly (what was the oil guys name, cause that's not right?) finds him unarmed. Jack grabs gun, points, fires, but it's empty. No escape, but in the classic action cliche, the villian starts talking and misses his chance, and Jack gets saved. Cue sentimental scenes with Tony getting his job back, Palmer forgiving his cabinet, and then bam, he's poisened or whatever. It just had no style. It felt rushed and forced. In the Boondock Saints when Willem Dafoe is talking about bad television, this was what he was referring to. At least, this is all my opinion. Very disappointed.

If you mean the character that plays Mandy, I'm still searching

edit: I think I've found it: Mia Kirshner

They managed to continue the pattern of cliffhangers by making the series finale a cliffhanger... BASTAGES!

Bah. Lame final episode...I have to say that this season really petered out towards the end and IMHO the blame must fall on the writing. It had been consistently poor throughout this season, but things *really* fell apart over the past few episodes (a marked contrast to last season when just about everything wrapped up quite nicely).

If nothing else the Kim subplot alone is reason enough to fire the whole stinking lot of '24' writers. In the first season her stupidity was at least connected to the main plot, which (combined with her boobies) almost made it tolerable. This time the entire g-ddamn Kim subplot came off as some kind of second-rate urban adaptation of 'Alice in Wonderland', as the audience was subjected to a series of increasingly irrelevant encounters with one overly contrived character after another. We meet Mr. Psycho Wife-murdering Fugitive Husband, Mr. Psycho Kung Fu Cripple Boyfriend, Mr. Psycho Anti-social Lovesick Survivalist, and finally Mr. Psycho Incompetent Shopkeeper-shooting Crybaby....AND *NONE* OF THEM HAD ANY FREAKING RELATION TO THE MAIN PLOT. *bangs head against wall in frustration* And fer the love of Jebus, if you're going to waste ~1/4 of the show's running time on a completely unrelated storyline at least put some thought into it...I came up with better ideas than that garbage in junior high. :disgust:

Even worse, it wasn't enough for those sadistic bastards on the '24' staff to make us suffer through the painfully pointless Kim plots. Nooooo, they just *had* to inflict more carnage on their viewership...so they wracked their walnut-sized brains and finally came up with the Oh-So-Original Office Love Triangle (with a special 10-second guest appearance by Danny the Amazing Drunken Wonder Hick). Oh joy, just what I wanted--more excrutiatingly tedious drivel crammed into each episode for no apparent reason except to steal air time from the *vastly* more interesting storylines of Palmer & Jack.

Overall I grade this season a C (compared to last season's B+). I'll watch next season but the writing had better improve dramatically. Either (1) kill off Kim, (2) make her subplot directly relevant to the main storyline, (3) make it waaaaay more interesting as a stand-alone storyline, or (4) give up all pretense and have her spend the entire 24 hours doing jumping jacks in the shower, because as things stand now she is killing the show.

And one more thing--Haysbert's character had better live because he is one of the only two '24' actors (the other being Kiefer Sutherland) capable of carrying a scene on their backs...without their fine performances to satisfy viewers the writing flaws would really begin to stand out.

i have to agree with EXP on most of it... I really couldnt stand the entire kim story... just got frustrating and annoying.
Anyhow, its still my favorite show on tv, and i'm definetly watching it next season.

So are we certain that the girl at the end was the same one from season 1?
where is Nina right now?

Nina is in custody/jail after her attempted hostage situation with Jack

For those calling it a lame ending - how is it lame exactly? They meant for this to be a "cliffhanger" of sorts. Having everything that happened in today's episode spread out over 2-3 episodes (ie, real time) would be lamer than packing it all into one episode. You guys claim it's unrealistic - jeez, one fvcking guy saves the world after having been tortured and his heart stopped. This show isn't about realism - if you're going to whine about the unrealistic plot or ending then please dont watch it and STFU.

It would be a great leadin to the next season if they killed palmer. Palmer dies, Prescott (who's secretly been working w/ the oil consortium) becomes president and has the prefect excuse to declare war (assasination). Now you have Bauer & Co. trying to stop a war while you have a corrupt president.

And I COMPLETELY agree the Kim storylines were retarded! She's like a magent for psycho and stupid people.
