We have to wait till September for a huge cliffhanger for ALIAS, why can't you guys wait just the same? Are you any better?! NO... didn't think so.
Alias, whats that?
And yes we are better
yeah, we're better. poop on episodic tv shows.
I only watch these 2 shows.. 24 and Alias. I must say Alias' plot lines/twists kick the @$$ out of 24's. There is no favoritism here. What would be the purpose of me saying it if it weren't true IMO ?
These 24 episode ideas and plot twists could've been done by JJ Abrams in his sleep. He is THAT good. Who here has given it a chance ?
i've watched it a few times, but with 24 i make it a point to watch it so i don't miss antyhing. it doesn't matter with episodic shows cause you can just watch them whenever.
Alias is NOT episodic. They tie up SOME loose ends, but some are left to your imagination until the next episode (which are always appropriately titled, BTW). There are tons of plot twists that stemmed from even season 1... and you think to yourself... WHOA... there is NO WAY the writer (JJ Abrams) planned that from the beginning... and then you 2nd guess yourself whether he did or not. Prime example is Sydney's mom... how you think she's on her side one moment then she screws her over YET again, BUT you didn't see it coming (again). Brilliance how it's all explained indirectly. The post-Superbowl episode kind of threw a lot of things out the window because he wanted to appeal to a new audience (seeing all the potential that timeslot had) so it was a chance for people to see the show from fresh plotlines - but not really. Even that was tied to season 1 stuff, but you quickly caught on. Seeing this is a 24 thread, I won't go on, but for anyone who hasn't seen Alias, find them for download... the season 2 cliffhanger is one of the best I've ever... experienced.
My complaint against this 24 finale was this: they cheated. You go through 24 long episodes and when Jack finally "saves" the world, you have one guy make a simple phone call and say "go ahead" ... that seeds the next season. That's cheating. There's nothing that made you think... "yes, I could've seen that coming because such-and-such happened, how sneaky of them." There's nothing that fuels the next season - aside from a president on the virge of death. That's it ? Like said before, this could've been done at any time. What a half-a$$ed effort at a finale and a cliffhanger. I expected a lot more from this show after a great season 1 story.
