OK.....so........nobody knows about the secret room in the middle of CTU with the giant monitor tree that just happens to be surveiling some kids pool that is manned soley by one guy who has a thick Mexican accent?

honestly, for the past 2 weeks every time i saw that guy i thought "he might be in CTU as a mole," but before i could even finish the thought i dismissed it as being too stupid. when it turned out to be true, i wasn't shocked in a good way. i was shocked in a "how could the writers be so retarded" way.

It was shocking because it was so predictable you would not have actually thought that it may happen, so therefore it did shock you when they did the unpredictable by doing what you thought was too predictable.

Anyhow, all stupiditiy aside, I don't think that mole thing is too cheesy. What annoys me, though, is having the possibility of President Palmer's new love interest have some sort of shady background. Heck, that Wade guy does not seem to 'feel' right. That annoys me because it seems as if that Palmer getting betrayed in some way plot-line is just getting a bit old.

Still too much soap for my taste. Obviously Fox made a conscious decision over the off-season to target the female demographic with more melodramatic relationship crap.

Can't say I'm too happy with the move...all that jibber-jabber is cutting into Jack's designated ass-whupping time. No doubt his withdrawal symptoms have nothing to drugs and everything to do with his unquenched bloodlust. :evil:

Most likely, the structure for this season will follow the same *basic* pattern as the first two seasons, as in:

(previous season spoilers ahead)

1. For the first half of the season, there is a "problem" and Jack usually ends up solving it

Season 1: all about Ira Gaines and his band of thugs; this part "ended" when Jack and family got rescued and flew home in heli's (aside: the producers weren't sure if 24 would last that long on Fox so this was sort of a "cut-off" point - if ratings were still too low at this point, they'd off the show and it could still be regarded as a decent story arc.)
Season 2: stopping the nuke from going off. This part of the plot ended when Mason went down with the nuke.

2. Second half of the season revolves around a new "problem" which once again Jack must solve:

Season 1: taking down Evil Dennis Hopper! *and* taking down Evil Nina!
Season 2: taking down evil Kingsley fellow *and* preventing a war in the middle east

Of course, that was just Jack's part of the story arc. The other main characters had their own sh*t to deal with too (i.e. Palmer).

ANYWAYS, the logical conclusion one may reach from previous experience is that this bio-threat to Los Angeles will probably be over by mid-season and we'll get to see everyone go ape-sh*t over something new.
