yeah, I mentioned that in last week's thread. Seemed kind of useless to waste time on that 2-episode story to not have that T1000 end up a more relevant character.

Then she says this week, to Ellison, that she believes his life, and Savannah's life, depends on John Henry's survival.

At first, it was pretty obvious to think that her scheme all along was to make the machines more and more human, that she just wanted Ellison to teach them how to think and behave like humans.

Now, I believe that she was initially recruited by future Conner b/c he knew something special about her--that she was already willing to take down Skynet. after the events on the submarine, she knew that she couldn't take down Skynet by working with the humans, with Conner's methods in the future. So she escaped to hatch her own method.

Hell, why else would she blow the shit out of the robot and steel factory this season?

The thing is, I think people gave up on it after seeing season 1. Or a few episodes of seasons one. No matter how much I say to the heros and Lost fans at work, I can not get them to give it a chance.

I just watched the episode on TiVo tonight and couldn't agree more with you and others in this thread... I think that Shirly Manson's terminator character is taking a sort of "high ground" approach. Skynet can't see the possibility of humans and machines coexisting, but her character somehow can. As a result, she is trying to avert judgement day. Her character knows that JD will lead to the resistence which will eventually lead to man overthrowing the machines. Instead of trying to work against the humans in the past, she is trying to avert the situation that will cause humans to fight the machines.

I am really bummed about losing Derek. He was just so awesome...

That will be a shame because I just checked the ratings and the show is getting seriously beat on Friday night by just about every other network and is barely ahead of some cable shows.
I can't imagine how Fox could justify keeping it. Except if Fox decided to try a remake of sci-friday and put Sara, Dollhouse and Fringe on one after the other.

The writers have already done cartwheels with a tiny budget for an action sci-fi series. They literally CANNOT cut the budget of this show any further without destroying it.

It was a bummer to see Derek get taken out like that. He wasn't the best character, but he was a hell of a lot more interesting than worthless Ellison. The completely anti-climactic way he got iced was really cool too.

It took this week's episode to cement my feeling that I really, really like this show. The last 5 minutes, while admittedly cheesy, was VERY well done. I wish the first 5 episodes or so had never been made, they've poisoned the show for a lot of people who probably otherwise would've been interested.

The first season was still, by far, way better than anything after. watch the final 5.


(but yeah, we probably agree. I nodded off early and stumbled back in midway through that season. 3rd or 4th episode was exact same as the previous.)
