What other guy pretedning to be Locke are you all talking about?

I'm convinced that is Locke from a time in his life that existed prior to him being killed be Ben.

Well it made it seem like it was the guy, talking to jacob, in the first 5 mins of the episode. Saying he will kill him, somehow, with a loophole. So it seemed like it was that guy somehow looking like Locke.

But I have a few questions with the Jacob situation. If Locke is really the Guy A from the opening scene, or smokey as most of us probably assume. Why did he need directions to Jaboc?

And why didn't Jacob defend himself. he knew Ben had a knife and egged him on to try to get Ben to kill him it seemed.

I'm thinking they really are the good guys. They are on Jacobs side. I think that they meant Frank was possibly one of the good guys too, like on the lists Jacob gave Ben of people who were candidates to join the 'others".

I'm thinking Jacob has grown tired of living so long and is preparing for someone to take his place.

And I really think it will be Hurley, who is really the most decent of all the Oceanic 6.

And I don't think they will change the past, which is what I think you meant because you can always change the future.
I think whatever happened, happened is kinda necessary, otherwise everything becomes very ambiguous, as in what event did the O6 do in 1977 that may have had an effect on the Losties from the time they crashed until season 6.

That may be a "rule" that was actually just an agreement that the people who are vying to be the leader of island made amongst themselves, as opposed to a great cosmic rule of the island.

He said it took a long time, and it should, or something. Remember in the beginning of the episode he was making the big quilt thing with all the symbols.

He said that making the tapestry took a really long time, especially since he had to make the thread, too. And then he said that it was the point, meaning Jacob has lived so long he needed something to pass the time.

I can understand holding themselves to the rules on the island. Assuming Widmore was banished from the island, I don't see why he'd hold himself to that standard.

so just reading through this thread, basically the writers just throw more nonsense together and wait for fanboys to make up their own interpretations of the horse shit they put on screen?

So what we know:

-Jacob had to eat to stay alive (i.e. the fish), plus he got knifed and kicked into the fire, so he's not invunerable, just perhaps immortal (Highlander-style)
-Jacob can travel off the island (he visited all the characters off-island)
-He knows what's going on with each character (Locke is going to fall out of a building, Kate is going to steal, etc.)
-Jacob's "buddy" can change how he looks (plastic surgery, smoke monster, morphing, whatever) and knows everything that Locke knew
-Jacob's "buddy" wants/wanted to kill Jacob for some reason
-Locke is deadsies
-Jacob sounded worried (to me at least) that "they" were coming (crew members carrying Locke's body?)

A buddy pointed out that Jacob's "friend" might also be showing himself as other people, such as Ben's daughter Alex, to prompt him to utilize the loophole to kill Jacob.

Man I really hope they have a good final series for this haha.
