the last season of BSG was probably the worst thing ever on TV.

if they wanted people to watch this, they shouldn't have sent BSG out on a wet fart. i give it five episodes.

I saw this on Comcast On Demand, I didn't realize until yesterday that it hadn't yet aired. It was pretty good, I'll probably watch the whole (18 episode?) series. It starts kinda slow, but its just building an atmosphere for the story to take place, much like the first few episodes of Stargate universe.

Exactly. And it's not that it has to be in space to be sci-fi, but they're not replacing it with anything else sci. It seems like the show has a decent setup to be a "hard" sci-fi story like Asimov or Clarke, but that's not what they're doing - it's going to be a pure soap opera.

I can't wait for Warehouse 13 or Eureka to start back up, at least they're entertaining.

the acting and character development was what elevated BSG to epic-ness, not its slapped together cgi scenes and pewpewlaserguns.

to me, the sci-fi element of BSG was simply a plot device, not a major element. I enjoyed it not because of the zipping around in space, but because of the characters and themes.

BSG was so boring. I saw the movie beginning of Caprica, it was much more interesting and had more attractive actors/actresses.

there are specific aspects of the final episode that I hated (starbuck's resolution), but overall I liked it

The extended pilot has been on Hulu for months. There are 11 shows already filmed. But I don't see this lasting more than 2 seasons tops. The casting is pretty good and it could be interesting to see how things developed between the two races. But there is nothing in the entire premise to keep this show drawn out for very long.

If this show goes on to be like BSG it will last 58 years or at least it will seem like it.
