Destiny stops near an uncharted star orbited by one planet, this time without activating the countdown clock. Lt. Scott leads a small team to the planet's surface, where the explorers are amazed to find an abundance of food, water and sunshine.

Two pretty good episodes to start the second half of the first season.
Hopefully they can get another good one in. Then they would be on a roll.
Though after tonite there are only seven epi's til the end of the season.

Not a bad episode.
TJ really looked different. The times they showed her without the red eyes and haggard appearance, she really showed how beautiful she is.

I didn't believe many people would choose to stay on the planet. While things were hard on Destiny, a handful of people with virtually nothing would have it far harder. Not believable. Giving up the a technologically advanced ship with the possibility of getting home, for a bare existence with a handful of people.

BTW Ming Na actually looked attractive this episode. She eaven showed cleavage.

I was way disappointed that McChesty didn't get to go down to the planet. I thought she and Chloe would look good taking a dip together.

So, I guess we are left to our own imagination as to what or who created the star and the planet.

And who will answer the signal.

I'm guessing the Klingons. And they are gonna be pissed someone was trespassing.

And why would you except them to do science fiction-y stuff in this show?
They managed yet another episode where they could have done sci fi stuff and yet focused on how someone had morning sickness, and some stupid preachy dude talking about saviours.

Sure, maybe it's not supposed to be Stargate like Stargate always has been, but every episode they strip away as much of the sci fi as is humanly possible and try and make it 100% human interest. Why bother calling it Stargate in the first place?

Sliders had a similar concept to Universe, so they could have just come up with an entirely new show rather than using the Stargate name. Might have made for a better series as well.

I don't know the filming schedule, but it seems the show is far better since the return from the break.

I mean, stuff actually happens.

I hope the writers realized the stones were a major complaint of the viewers and that it was losing viewers because the show seemed to be about interpersonal and professional relationships back on earth.

Its supposed to be a science fiction show, for crying out loud.

Oh, and why was TJ so upset at being back on the ship? The part about how she didn't want her child to grow up on the ship seemed strange. How rough would it be for the kid on the planet? Even assuming one or two of the women who stayed behind got pregnant, when the kid grew up and the rest of the people who stayed got old and died, there would be only one or two other people with him or her. And they might all be the same sex. So basically the kid and the one or two others would grow old and die together on the planet.
Is it because she didn't want to face Young and tell him she was pregnant?

That said I was really hoping that this would be pt 1 of a 2 parter involving the obelisk and aliens once I heard "they'll be down there for a month". But nope, we barely saw them spend the night and then they're off to the next little gravity well.

so how many stayed down in the end? only thing I couldn't really figure out. at one time they mentioned 11, but with so many of those 11 finally deciding to go when several were forced, wonder how it ended up.

I enjoy the interaction between Rush and Young.

I too think we will see the group that was left behind again. Should be interesting.

I am happy with the positive energy this episode but it seemed like an episode of Lost with all the unnecessary interpersonal drama. I do not like Lost and am starting to lose interest in this show also because of all the dumb interpersonal drama. I wish it was a continuation of the positive energy with everyone working together towards a common goal as initially provided in the original Stargate.

I noticed McChesty's actor was not listed at the beginning of the show, but at the end.
I think this is a reliable guage as to how much screen time she gets in an episode. Opening credits:Boobage. Closing credits:Not so much boobage.

Because they aren't the expedition team, just mostly a bunch of random people who got shoved through the Stargate before the Icarus planet exploded.
