I haven't watched this show since they found out that one dude had found the bridge and was holding out on them. Has it gotten any better?

I personally think so Nintendesert, unfortunately there are only a few episodes left since Syfy cancelled the series due to extremely poor ratings.

Damn, I'll have to pick up and watch it from there then. It was just so frustrating and made me want to murder so many on that ship. I was rooting for the aliens most of the time.

I didn't make it through the 1st half of season 1. Absolutely nothing that I saw made me want to watch it any more.
I watched part of the last episode and there is still to much tension on the ship. It's basically, Star Trek Voyager mixed with the new (sucky) Battlestar Galactica.

Yeah, there were only a few enjoyable episodes in the first season. The first half of the second season wasn't much better, but the second half of the second season has been pretty good. Last episode was really quite good and I'm expecting good things tonight.

Well, that was a strange episode.

It was kinda like a finale, wasn't it? Now the Destiny can blow up and the alt characters lives become the real ones and we saw how it all ended.
Eli with the butch corporal?

I have to admit for the second time in the whole series I actually cared for someone. The first was for Eli when they killed Ginn and this time it was for T.J.

Oh, and it was hysterical, Brody as the angry old man telling kids to get the hell of his lawn....

Lastly, with the head start of the knowledge brought from the present, you would think they would have been even more advanced after 2000 years..

They talked about the possibility of the cure for the disease being recorded on one of the ships they had heading to the new planet yet they couldn't find them on sensors while traveling to the planet to drop the other people off?

That was really the only thing that bothered me but I suppose it adds in a decent plot line by her having to keep it for the time being.

Yeah it was a pretty good episode, but it seemed like they went to great lengths to tie everything off, rather than leave anything open.

The city-ships are essentially unfindable.

The main city and the archive got totalled JUST after they got there.

The urgency of finding a settling planet is gone with the new air scrubbers.

What about those robot ships again? How did destiny get to Novus? FTL? What about the robot ships?

This whole plotline reminds me of the Deep Space 9 episode Children of Time.

It seems a rather strange diversion to be having at the end of the series, but I'm not sure how much warning the writers had about the cancellation.

I think it was determined that the robot ships were homing in on the emanations from using the stargates, and not the ships ftl.

just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the past couple episodes. I feel like the CGI is better also. it's a shame that this show is ending.

Right. I remember now. I recalled the discussion about them homing in on powerful technology energy readings and they thought it might have been FTL, but now I remember they said it was the gate dialling.

Yeah, their ancestors were there for 2000 years but the minute they go down into the bomb shelter to get the desperately needed information the planet blows up.

It's crap like that which just burns me up.

Still a few eps behind as I've just started watching the 2nd hald shows. Kinda sucks that it's cancelled as the quality has finally picked up where it's an interesting watch were you wait for the next ep.

I also thought it was a diversion at first, but now I'm thinking the fact that they have a whole civilization of descendants is essential to how the series will end.

Didn't Eli say it would take 37 hours to transfer the data? They got 1/3rd so they were there a little over 12 hours before the archive goes down for good... Even if you add a bunch of setup time and what not, maybe 20 hours before?

Couldn't destiny just figure out how fast those ships would be travelling, plot a most likely course to the next planet, figure out how far they would have gotten, go FTL to those coordinates and then do a relatively quick search pattern? Seems worth trying no?

Eli said they had gotten 900 exabytes. It was nice to hear a data size figure that made me go "Whoah!" instead of some of the laughable ones you sometimes run across when watching older shows. For the metrically-challenged, that's 900 BILLION gigabytes. If you had a connection that was a full 1 Gbps (i.e. typical modern wired home switch), it would take over 228,000 YEARS to copy that data. Given that they could do it over wireless in a matter of hours, it was a pretty impressive transfer rate, but your point is still funny.

Meh. Their provider was throttling them.

I wasn't even aware the second half of the season premiered. And since the show's been cancelled, I don't give a shit anymore. Trying to watch the episode right now...

With the other ridiculous "calculations" they do, you'd think that would be a snap.
