i'm sorry, but the kid went full retard getting out of his car and pointing.

After seeing that version of the vid,( it's the same one but zoomed up closer) it appears Stewart's car actually fishtailed downward away from the other driver when he gooses the throttle, my opinion has now been changed to the kid got waaay to close to TS's car, if he wanted to make a point with TS then he should have waited till the race was over.

"There aren't words to describe the sadness I feel about the accident that took the life of Kevin Ward Jr. It's a very emotional time for all involved, and it is the reason I've decided not to participate in today's race at Watkins Glen."

It was so overwhelmingly sad for Stewart, they originally came out with, "Tomorrow is business as usual." He's certainly doing his part in keeping PR people employed.

Tragic, but the kid never should've got out of his car in the middle of the track and walked towards Tony's car.

Don't get out of your vehicle when it's stuck on a track during a race, period, especially not when other cars are flying by at 60+mph. It's tragic, but it's 100% Ward's fault.

Or given him the finger and thrown his helmet at him, from his own car. Getting out in the middle of the track was suicide.

Yeah, I see that downward motion as the car reacting to hitting Ward.

Well, hopefully it becomes clearer after the investigation.

Actually, LTC's not wrong and you are. In the video, by the time you can see Stewart's car, its rear end is already kicked out to the right, meaning the thing was sliding for some unknown reason.....Stewart was under a yellow flag and certainly wasn't racing, so there shouldn't have been any reason for the rear end of his car to break loose at that moment, unless he goosed the gas and did exactly what happened.....goosed the gas, rear end broke loose, rear end slides to the right and hits the other driver. No other explanation can be reasonable for the attitude of Stewart's car when it becomes visible.
I'm glad you're not a detective.

I agree--unfortunate all around, but the guy just shouldn't have gotten out of his car, and more than that, he shouldn't have gotten so close to the other vehicles as they were coming around the track.

I was a kid once and I drove a motorcycle back them.

Somebody offended me on the road for some stupid reason one day and. I decided I was going to tailgate him to teach him a lesson.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!

He decided to brake check me. I came to a few inches of his rear bumper, all this at about 75 MPH.

I learned a lesson that day, never again would I tailgate a car while riding a motorcycle. I was lucky to get away with my life.

This kid made a stupid move here. Unfortunatly he did not live to talk about it. It's sad.

Tony may have also tried to scare him. I hope not but it is possible and the video is not conclusive. A dark mark on his record one way or the other.

Hopefully other videos will surface.

You are an idiot.

One eyewitness account:

Quote:
Tyler Graves, a sprint-car racer, (said) in a phone interview that he was sitting in the Turn 1 grandstands and saw everything.

"Tony pinched him into the front stretch wall, a racing thing," Graves said. "The right rear tire went down, he spun on the exit of (Turn) 2. They threw the caution and everything was toned down.He was throwing his arms up all over the place at Tony for most of the corner.

"I know Tony could see him. I know how you can see out of these cars. When Tony got close to him, he hit the throttle. When you hit a throttle on a sprint car, the car sets sideways. It set sideways, the right rear tire hit Kevin, Kevin was sucked underneath and was stuck under it for a second or two and then it threw him about 50 yards."

Graves said he didn't believe it was intentional.
"You never mean to do something like that," Graves told Sporting News. "Kevin was pissed and he let Tony know. And Tony was trying to give the message back that he wasn't happy either. He went over the line with it."

its a turn > he is behind another car, guy getting hit is basically in race track camo. Cars are going a lot faster than they look even if under caution they basically race to spot behind the lead car.

old next door neighbor had was a local dirt track racer (his cars were parked between our houses). yes you have limited peripheral vision from both the car and the helmet you wear.

you mean this one?

Tyler Graves, a sprint-car racer and friend of Ward's, told Sporting News in a phone interview that he was sitting in the Turn 1 grandstands and saw everything that happened.

"Tony pinched him into the frontstretch wall, a racing thing," Graves said. "The right rear tire went down, he spun on the exit of (Turn) 2. They threw the caution and everything was toned down. It set sideways, the right rear tire hit Kevin, Kevin was sucked underneath and was stuck under it for a second or two and then it threw him about 50 yards."

Nope not biased at all. considering his friend was just killed.

the guy can't claim to know what tony could see. again look at the video the lighting is bad and the guy that got hit was wearing BLACK.

it is very possible that tony just didn't see him

since these are dirt track cars they slide all over. only a fucking idiot gets out of car and walks into the path of another racer.

he nearly got hit by another car before tony hit him.

LOL ... you can't take that guys statement for shit because he said that the guy was thrown FIFTY FUCKING YARDS! that is 150 feet. LOL. the guy wasn't even thrown 50 feet from the video, nor was he under the car for 2 seconds.

seriously, anyone who thinks this was intentional is just a fucking moron.

So when it's dark out, there are possibly people on the track since it is caution, and you have limited visibility the best solution is to come around the corner sideways with the throttle pinned?

I don't think it's anymore intentional than the guy who gets drunk and kills a family of four. Point is Tony made a poor decision to get the car sideways while the kid was on the track. He really should be charged with something but he won't be because his pockets are deep.

I like your version of an alternate reality, I mean, you should really try fictional writing.

Oh, look at that - a fat automobile driver hits someone who is walking,... I am not shocked. Was Tony worried the kid was going after his donuts in the pit?

Tony Stewart is a fat demented pig. He was probably trying to 'teach the kid a lesson' and ended up murdering him instead - but, apologist will apologize.

Ah-ma eacha too,...

You cannot even see him coming out of a turn in the video. All you see is the person getting hit. I don't know how you came too that conclusion from the video.

Pretty conceited to think that was directed specifically at you. Every article out there, even linked here, with comments is filled with anti Stewart vitriol.

Yet you still decided to display your complete ignorance on the matter. Thanks for that information.

Trash for a nickname and from Texas, all that is needed to see what that anonymous Internet coward is capable of.

wow, I can see where maybe Stewart was trying to scare him and went too far or something. But come on, how stupid do you have to be to walk in the middle of a racetrack and point your finger at a driver who has the power to kill you.
I don't think we will ever know if this was intentional or not, but I place nearly all the blame on the guy. That is just moronic in my opinion. If anyone walks out on I-10 doing the same thing, I would guess a similar situation would happen and would say the same thing. Sometimes common sense has to kick in.

I would be more than happy to meet Stewart face to face and call him a fat fuck - because he is a fat fuck.

This applies to anyone and all on the internet.
