What we did in our 'traditional family' when I was young. On thankgsgiving day, my mom would cook the meal and my dad would hang the christmas lights. That same weekend, the tree and stuff would come out.

We always put up our tree and other decorations the Sunday before December 25th. So this year that will be December 20, and we take them down the weekend after January 1st, which will be the 2nd or 3rd of January this year.

Usually I say right after thanksgiving. The Christmas music usually comes out earlier though.

This year I set up my mini tree in my dorm early. Like last week early.

Ours are up all year long. We just move to the Christmas section of the estate. We've gotten a late start this year, but hopefully we'll be moving from the Halloween section to Thanksgiving section this weekend.
