Too high temp on E2180@2850

Ive overclocked E2180 on ASROCK 4coredual-sata2 MOBO to 2850. When trying 3GHz im getting BSOD right after boot. My PSU is CHIEFTEC 400W, GFX 7300GT.
Cores temp on idle is ~52C, after starting ORTHOS it takes few minutes to computer reset due overheat.
Have instaled box HSF, pins inserted correctly. Using arctic silver 5 paste.

Is that a HSF problem and it need to be repleaced, or maybe CPU isnt overclocking too good.
What do you think ?

My guess would be the temps. 52°idle is pretty high. And I can't imagine what your load temps are. But I would imagine that your motherboard is shutting your system down to prevent you burning up your CPU. I would back off the overclock a bit, till you get a better cooler.
The absolute max that I would run temps are 60°-65°. Anything else your probably doing damage to the cpu.

You putt too much paste on, or it isn't making contact. Really clean off the hsf and ihs well with high-concentration iso. alcohol (>70%). With AS5 you want to put a small glob the size of a grain of rice in the center, make contact with the cooler, twist a couple degrees in each direction, and bolt. You'll know what to avoid when you take the heatsink off to do this. If there is little on the hsf- you probably went for the pb&j-style spread and it cured on the top before you got the heatsink on. Not enough spreading across the ihs means you didn't apply enough pressure and twist. Portions in the locking mechanism, and outside the main ihs face means you put on way too much. Any chance you have a recolection of the temps with the stock heatsink, stock TIM, and stock speeds? Maybe your voltage is through the roof?

Have cleaned both, CPU & HS, applied rice amount of AC5 and it works.
Now idle is 30-32 C.
BUT still, ORTHOS makes computer reset after ~15 min.
Will it make a different if i change HSF to budget AC Freezer 7 PRO PWM ??

What are your overclock settings?, temp is not your problem if your idling at 30-32.

Whats your ram speed and timings? Whats the CPU and DDR volts?

You should be able to get past 3ghz even on the stock HSF.

You're not going to get 3Ghz or over on that mobo, it tops out at 280Mhz FSB stable.

DDR - 181MHz (ddr333-loose timings)
When ORHOS - temp goes rapidly to 45 and further to around 55-60 then reseting
Cant do much in BIOS about overclock settings, any CPU volt rising is hard-mod case.

Some forum people like MrVain keeps their systems @3GHz, 30min ORTHOS stable

My windows wont load if 3GHz is set.

Didn't notice what board you were using, Larry is correct that board is known to top out at 280, 280 x 10 is the best you can hope for.
