<< Hey Purple D, I go to UIUC, anyone know how this microsoft download thing works? I never heard about this... >>
It's for CS majors - tonight at 5pm in DCL (20 mins from now). Non-CS are welcome, but have to pay a fee - like $5 or something. Just a little get together including free Za's subs and pizzas...

Whoa! You mean there's actually a sense of community amongst the CS majors at UIUC now? I graduated there just last May and if that's the case, then I tell ya, that's great... I guess all the cynical disgruntled students got out with their "piece of paper" within the past year or so...
Oh man, I miss Za's subs and pizzas... >>
UIUC has plenty of oppertunities to learn. If you didn't taken them and now can't get a job, guess who's fault it was? That's what sleepin through 373 gets ya >>
When you were there they had this type of stuff for UIUC majors. The bang mixers and studybreaks were great. I forget which one it was but the one with free food and ps2 gaming was huge. Also, in case anyone missed this event, you can always go to the CS department and take the CDs out on loan, then install the software. In fact, at UIUC the EE department had something set up like this for a while
And as for not getting a job, it seems like even UIUC can't help me out here (at least for now). The economy sure is tough. I don't have the best grades, but tech companies were gobbling up anyone who was a good coder. Now it's tough, and I graduate in May.
