Dude, if you like the G35, then get the G35. It's your car, don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

If you were 15, you'd be too young for an Infiniti G35.

Last I checked, if you're old enough to have a license, you're old enough to drive any car. So pick one you like.

If you think the G35 is too young for you, check out the I35. It's roughly the same price. Also, I don't think the G35 is too young because you don't see many people under 20 driving 'em. The G35 is so pimp though. The new Infiniti lineup is really looking good. G35-G35Coupe-I35-Q45. They only need to replace the QX4 and they're all set. If it were me, I'd go with a used Q45. 1997 and later was a good Q.

However, I plan to keep this thing for as many as 9 years. Drive it into the ground in other words. For my parents, the money itself isnt really the problem. Its more a question of "character". There are many factors involved in that as far as Im concerened. FYI, I cant afford a new car *myself* right now, because Ive only worked part-time at odd jobs. However, I am going to need to drive around quite a bit (I live in LA, south bay area).

All that being said, most people who see my car are not going to know if I paid for it or not. But, I guess im asking more if you think getting a G35 would actually damage *my* personal character.

Where I come from, a lot of kids drive BMW 3s and I have a friend who jets around in an SL500 lately. However, some kids also drive 1982 hand-me-downs.

Im glad you guys seem to be responding honestly, because thats what I wanted.

PS. I go to a good college and get pretty damn good grades.

somehow i have this feeling you are from P.V.

i'm from the south bay too. realistically , if you have to drive the car around a lot, i.e. parking at college on the street, etc. i would get a cheaper car. you're just gonna be pissed off when someone scratches a g35. but if you are driving an accord or something its not as big a deal. i wouldnt get an accord though, morelikely to get stolen. get an altima. yeah, be like me. except get the 2002, the one i wish iwas driving. I am probably gonna end up driving my car into the ground too, since its resale blows , and well i probably cant afford a new car for a long time, unless i can get a really good job in this economy with a CS degree.

The guy you know who has an sl500.. damn.. good lord. one of my dad's friends just got one, and that guy is millionaire and waited 3 years on a waiting list for just the privilidge of buying one for $125k

G35 No Questions Asked

Your in a upscale school, you need to be driving around in a nice car. Its sporty and fast and im sure you will enjoy that vehicle.

s per you personal character, if I saw someone driving a G35, i would think they are well off, and well educated.
Let us know what you decide.

I know this isn't answering your question, but here's another option for you (its also a shameless plug for my brother ) he has a 2000 Audi S4 sedan for sale, looking for about 31k. Here's a link to the pics 2000 Audi S4

In case you don't know much about it, its basically the body style of the Audi A4 except this one has a twin-turbo V6 powerhouse under the hood and audi's quattro awd. very easy to mod, for example just installing a new ECU chip instantly gives you close to 320hp.

to answer your question though, the G35 is sweet and i think would be awesome for any age group

My problem with getting a fancy car is having to worry about the freakin maintenance and being worried about protection and dings. I do sometimes think about getting a new car.. like a lower end beamer/lexus (328/323 or is300). When I think of the realities.. it's just not worth it. So I think I'll just stick w/ my Celica 6-spd GTS '00 for a little longer..
