but luckily college's dont care about this ranking...i was 58th in my class, something like that and ended up1 of 4 who went to Johns Hopkins,

Hopkins has really gone downhill over the year, although I love the area, it's about 10 minutes from my house, but the area really doesn't feel that safe anymore, atleast not as much as it used to be.

Buncha bullshit. Our schools biggest rival, West Windsor Plainsboro High School North, made #536. I'm West Windsor Plainsboro High School South.

It's funny, North was #1 in the top 100 schools in NJ according to NJ Magazine, and South was #2, yet there is no sign of South anywhere on the list. Buncha crap, if you ask me .

EDIT: Checked again, and we're actually #486 .

for NY it seems like half most of the school in Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties are on the list. Of course you are going to pay something like $7000 per year in property taxes to send your kids there.

...gotta love the no walls atmosphere. Our heater/AC broke this year, so for the entire year (until this weekend) we've been getting the air from outside circulated in the school, but now its fixed, ha. I'm a lowly freshman, but damn do I love it.

Yea, but sometimes when you had classes next to each other the teachers would drown each other out! The campus was so awesome, on nice days the teachers would teach the class on the grass surrounding the building.

LOL, yeah, still happens, but its nice to be able to kinda lose focus sometimes if you're not in that mood . It's great to go outside and just do the classes there, a lot of the teachers there are really laid back, which I like. Glad to see a fellow Souther!

Top 100 High Schools

Here is the top 1,000 list: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7723397/site/newsweek/

I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but my old high school is ranked NUMBER 8 IN THE NATION. I mean, I was in the IB program there but that school is not one you would think would make it... I'm sure the AP and IB students were the saving grace.

Compare #8 Pensacola High School to the others in terms of subsidized lunches... 63% for that school (indicating high poverty) compared to ~10% for the majority of the other top schools. Simply amazing!

yeah my school didn't make it onto the list, and it was pretty damn good. bronx high school of science

I went there. It has about 300.
